Measurement: Half think Crown Princess Mette-Marit should be called in for questioning

Only 20.7 per cent of those questioned answered no, while 29.1 answered they did not know.

The survey, created by InFact for The online newspaper has been carried out among 1,072 people over the age of 18 throughout the country. It has a margin of error of between 2.4 and 3.0 percentage points.

Especially among the youngest, there are many who believe that the Crown Princess should be questioned. 56 per cent in the age group 18–29 answered yes to this.

Høiby is under investigation for several matters and is, among other things, accused of abuse in close relationships against Juliane Snekkestad, with whom he was a lover and cohabitant from 2018 to 2022.

Snekkestad’s legal aid lawyer, Petter J. Grødem, confirmed last week that he had sent a formal request to the Oslo police district that Crown Princess Mette-Marit should be questioned in the case.

– The evidence situation in the case is such that we believe it is only natural that we get her explanation now. I think it would actually be unnatural if she doesn’t answer questions from the police. An explanation from the crown princess will, in my opinion, shed new light on the case against her son, Grødem added Aftenposten.

The police have not yet commented on whether this is something they are considering.
