Given the atypical rains that occurred in the last few hours, the Bogotá Secretary of Education reiterates its support and accompaniment to the schools affected by this emergency. The Secretariat remains in constant coordination in the Unified Command Post (PMU) with the city’s emergency response agencies to respond to any situation that impacts the educational community.

According to the report from the District Institute of Risk Management and Climate Change, moderate to heavy rains are expected in different sectors of the city on Thursday, November 7, 2024. For this reason, and in order to act preventively, it is suggested that public and private educational institutions located in the most affected area (between streets 200 and 225, and between the northern highway and the seventh race) consider reducing the today’s school day or other measures aimed at avoiding later complications.

In relation to the day of November 8, 2024, measures will be reported as soon as there are reports from IDIGER, in any case, you are invited to monitor the progress of the climate situation to adopt actions that are aimed at the well-being of girls, boys and young people.
