The National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM) has published its weather forecast for the next few hours, valid from Thursday, November 7 at noon until Friday, November 8 at the same time. According to ANACIM, generally clear skies are expected across the country during this period, although particular climatic phenomena should be noted.
During the day and night of Thursday, the sky will remain clear over the majority of the territory, allowing for generally stable weather conditions. However, in the early morning, mists could appear in certain coastal areas in the south, particularly on the Dakar-Casamance axis. These light foggy formations will mainly affect the areas around the coast, without significantly altering visibility, which should generally remain good.

The heat will persist throughout the territory, with notable temperature peaks: in the south, the maximums will reach 34°C, while in the center, the thermometer will be able to climb up to 38°C, and even up to 39°C in northern regions. This intense heat, combined with dry conditions, characterizes the climate of this transition period.

Furthermore, the nighttime coolness is starting to be felt, particularly in southern localities where minimum temperatures will gradually drop, reaching 18°C, or even 17°C. This drop in morning temperatures, a sign of the gradual arrival of the cool period, is expected to become more marked in the days to come.
The winds will be weak and of variable direction across the entire territory, which should limit any sudden variation in weather conditions.

**Interview with Dr. Aissatou Diop, Meteorologist at ANACIM**
**Host:** Welcome, Dr. Diop. Thank you for joining us to discuss the latest weather forecast from ANACIM.
**Dr. Diop:** Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here.
**Host:** So, ANACIM has just released a forecast for November 7th to 8th. Could you summarize what we can expect in terms of weather during this period?
**Dr. Diop:** Certainly! We’re looking at generally clear skies across Senegal, which is great news for outdoor activities. Most areas will experience stable weather. However, we do expect some mists in the early morning, particularly along the coastal regions, notably on the Dakar-Casamance axis.
**Host:** That sounds promising! You mentioned mists along the coast. Will this affect visibility, and should residents be cautious?
**Dr. Diop:** The mists might create some localized areas of reduced visibility, especially in the early hours. However, overall visibility should remain good throughout the day. It’s always wise for drivers to exercise caution in such conditions, but it shouldn’t significantly disrupt daily activities.
**Host:** ANACIM also focuses on seasonal forecasts and the influence of ocean temperatures. How important is this information for understanding weather patterns?
**Dr. Diop:** Understanding ocean surface temperature anomalies is crucial, as they play a significant role in our weather patterns. These anomalies can lead to variations in rainfall and temperature, impacting agriculture, water resources, and even health. Our seasonal forecasts help communities prepare for these changes.
**Host:** That’s insightful, Dr. Diop. As we wrap up, is there any advice you’d like to share with the public regarding this forecast?
**Dr. Diop:** I would encourage everyone to stay informed through our updates and be mindful of local conditions, especially if you’re in coastal areas. It’s always best to be prepared for any weather changes.
**Host:** Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, Dr. Diop. We appreciate ANACIM’s work in keeping the public informed about weather patterns.
**Dr. Diop:** Thank you! It’s our duty to ensure everyone has the information they need to stay safe and prepared.
