In a correspondence addressed to the Secretary General of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), Angélique Ngoma, the activists (around ten) of this former ruling party in the department of Mulundu whose capital is Lastourville in the province of Ogooué- Lolo (south-east), slammed the door by submitting their collective resignation.
“Madam Secretary General, we, the undersigned, members of the Gabonese Democratic Party, inform you of our resignation from our functions and our membership of the PDG in order to comply with the texts of the PDG and in order to concentrate our efforts on political commitment more local, more coherent with the current challenges of our department through the Mulundu Delta force political movement”, informed the latter in the resignation letter read by Edmond Mbanda Nzendzilet Alias Deggon.
The resigning activists held the positions of Member of the National Council (MCN) and Member of the Central Committee (MCC) of the CEO. For them, the vision proposed by the political group founded by the late President Omar Bongo in 1968 no longer fits with the current deep aspirations of the Gabonese people.
“While fully recognizing the historic role of the CEO in the Gabonese political landscape and not being able to work effectively for two political structures at the same time, we choose to dedicate ourselves entirely to promoting the agenda of the Committee for the transition and restoration of institutions (CTRI) during this transition period »indicated the resigners in the joint resignation letter.
Deposed since August 30, 2023 by the bloodless cost of state perpetrated by soldiers united within the CTRI with his head, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the CEO who embodied power for 56 years is no longer only a shadow of himself. Several hundred executives and emblematic figures of the party resigned to create their own political apparatuses.

**Interview with Activist Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Edmond. Can you explain the reasons behind the recent resignation of the activists from the Gabonese Democratic Party?
**Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi:** Thank you for having me. Our resignation from the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) was primarily motivated by a desire to align our political efforts more closely with the local challenges we face in our community in Mulundu. We believe that focusing our resources and attention on regional issues will allow us to make a more significant impact.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned wanting to concentrate on “political commitment more local.” Can you elaborate on what specific local issues you aim to address with your new political movement, Mulundu Delta Force?
**Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi:** Absolutely. The Mulundu Delta Force aims to tackle pressing issues like education, healthcare, and infrastructure development within our department. We believe that by addressing these grassroots concerns directly, we can foster a more responsive and effective political environment that truly serves the needs of our people.
**Interviewer:** How do you think this change in focus will resonate with the community?
**Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi:** We are optimistic that the community will appreciate our commitment to tackle local issues head-on. Many citizens feel disconnected from national politics, which often overlooks their day-to-day struggles. Our intention is to demonstrate that political activism can be both relevant and accessible at the local level.
**Interviewer:** Given the political climate in Gabon following the recent resignation of the government, how do you see this new movement fitting into the broader political landscape?
**Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi:** The current political climate is indeed tumultuous, especially following the resignation of the government. There’s a palpable desire for change among the populace. We view the Mulundu Delta Force as a grassroots response to this situation, advocating for genuine representation and accountability at the local level. By focusing our efforts here, we hope to inspire others across Gabon to engage in local governance and activism.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Edmond, for sharing your insights. Your commitment to community issues is commendable, and we look forward to seeing how the Mulundu Delta Force evolves.
**Edmond Mbanda Nzendzi:** Thank you! We’re excited about the future and the potential for positive change in our community.
