SEGA confirms development of new Virtua Fighter

Almost two decades after the launch of Virtua Vighter 5, SEGA has finally confirmed the development of a new game in the franchise. The news was confirmed by Justin Scarpone, executive vice president and head of the brand’s Global Transmedia Group in an interview with VGC.

He recalled that during the last The Game Awards, SEGA confirmed the development of new games for classic franchises, such as Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage and Shinobi. Then, he revealed that a Virtua Fighter title also has a title in production.

Scarpone says that everything is very exciting and also says that in some cases, SEGA produces animations or live action films that are part of the schedules of these franchises. Recently, the company confirmed that Shinobi is one of them.
