A deputy of the Russian Duma, allegedly constantly at the front, writes patriotic messages from Antalya

Dmitry Sablin is the main “hawk” of the parliament. He is a former military man, head of the Combat Brotherhood organization and first deputy chairman of the Duma Defense Committee. Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, he has created a public image of a front-line deputy and even officially, as he says, signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense.

“This is Dmitry Vadimovich Sablin. It’s outside all the time. Starting with the battles of Mariupol. In general, from the first days of the operation. He always helped Donbas”, – this is how the deputy, standing in camouflage clothing and with a gun on his shoulder, was introduced by military correspondent Semyon Pegov (WarGonzo) in an interview last October.

However, D. Sablin is at least not on the battlefield all the time. Just a couple of weeks before that interview, the member of parliament returned from a vacation in Antalya, a resort in southern Turkey that has been home to is a member of NATO.

The publication “Insider” used the data of D. Sablin and his wife Ala Nalča from the “Sirenas Travel” ticket reservation system. Based on the received information, D. Sablinas and A. Nalča in 2022. October 7 traveled from Moscow to Antalya with a transfer in Sochi, and on October 12 returned on a direct flight back to the capital.

While on vacation in “enemy” territory, D. Sablin continued to publish patriotic messages on his “Telegram” channel. For example, on October 10 he spoke of the West’s “double standards” and once again called for a fight against the “Kyiv regime”. The weather in Antalya that day was clear, 27 degrees Celsius, and the sea was also warm at 26 degrees Celsius.

This was far from the only flight of the family of a member of “United Russia” to NATO territory during the war. The “Sirena Travel” system contains data on monthly flights to Turkey during the season, for which D. Sablin himself and his wife, as well as daughter Yevgenija, daughter-in-law Anastasia and son Georgijus, arranged. The deputy himself used a diplomatic passport for flights.

Turkey has not joined the EU sanctions, so D. Sablin can travel to this NATO country. European sanctions have been applied to D. Sablin since the end of last year. He was blacklisted much later than most of his Duma colleagues. The EU’s slowness in making a decision is explained by the fact that D. Sablin simply missed the vote on the “recognition of the independence of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic” – precisely for the approval of these decisions, Western restrictions were formally imposed on the deputies.

The laziness of the EU allowed D. Sablin to save the multi-billion-ruble yacht “Bachus Alla” from arrest. Last spring The Bacchus Alla was in port in Montenegrowhich supports EU sanctions. If D. Sablin, like his other fellow members of parliament, had already been sanctioned at that time, the yacht could have been seized. However, the MP eventually managed to hide it until he was included in the sanctions lists.

Dmitry Sablin is one of the richest deputies of the Russian Duma. He owns restaurants, hotels, agricultural holdings, and is engaged in real estate development. One of his companies sells apartments to orphans. State contracts are awarded without competition and at inflated prices, Insider claims. D. Sablin’s organization “Fighting Brotherhood” is one of the largest recipients of grants from the President of Russia.
