The 12-year-old who was seriously injured in Cholargos with an electric skate, after a collision with a car, is fighting for his life in the ICU of the “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital.
As the Star reported, the danger has not passed, while according to the treating doctors, the next 72 hours are considered critical for the course of his health. The father of the 12-year-old is by his child’s side day and night in the Intensive Care Unit.
Speaking to the Star, he said that at the time of the abduction he was at work where he was called and informed about the accident, telling him not to worry that the child had broken his leg.
When he arrived at the hospital, he was informed of what exactly happened to the 12-year-old. All he asks is that everyone pray for his child.
Another shocking detail is that the unfortunate father is raising his child and sister alone, as their mother has died.
The father of the 12-year-old categorically denied what the driver claimed that the child fell on her with the skate and not the other way around and stated that “the driver violated the red light” and that “there are also witnesses”.
“She didn’t run a red light,” says the driver’s father
A 30-year-old teacher is the driver of the car that hit the 12-year-old on Mesogeion Avenue and is in a state of shock.
“It’s a huge shock. She is still crying (the driver). We can’t comfort her. Kept all night. Yesterday we had crying, we had shock, we had… she couldn’t recover… Of course they took her, they did a breathalyzer, they did blood tests, everything. In the morning I went to light a candle in the church. An hour later, the whole family and my two daughters and my wife and I were at the hospital to give any help. Before everyone else. The kid went to cross the crosswalk with a roller skate. As he went to start (the car) – it’s wrong what they say he passed on red, he passed on green. However, the child fell on the left side of the car. The skate hit the car and didn’t pull it over. And of course she was injured,” said the driver’s father, speaking to Mega, while claiming that his daughter did not violate a red light.
“This traffic light, it’s holding, we went and timed it yesterday, close to 5 minutes it’s red. And it only lights up, one lights up for 13 seconds, for the pedestrians, 13 seconds, the one where the accident happened and the other one, around 30. It could be that the other one was covering it, it was indeed a truck in the video on the right, it could be covering it truck with its volume and passed the child. The accident takes a second to happen, it doesn’t take more than that,” added the driver’s father.
