Barely three months are left for the start of the <a href="https://www.archyde.com/under-19-odi-india-australia-semi-final-today-sports-deshabhimani/" title="Under-19 ODI: India-Australia semi-final today | Sports | Deshabhimani”>ODI Cricket World Cup and in such a way Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has said that the tournament will be rescheduled to October 15 in Ahmedabad Pakistan And the thorny match between India may also be rescheduled.
The World Cup schedule is usually announced a year before the start of the event, but the matches for the tournament, which starts on October 5 in India, were announced last month.
This extraordinary delay has caused difficulties for cricket fans who plan to travel to India for the tournament.
And now Indian Board Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that the schedule announced last month is also not final.
Jay Shah told reporters on Thursday: ‘Two or three boards have written to us asking for a change in the schedule based on logistical challenges.’
“There are some matches that are only two days apart, so it will be difficult for those teams to play and then travel the next day,” he added.

Organizers are yet to announce when and where fans can buy tickets, while an ICC spokesperson said it would be up to the BCCI to decide.
According to media reports, the match scheduled between Pakistan and India on October 15 in Ahmedabad may also be affected as a Hindu festival is to be celebrated in the state of Gujarat on that day and adequate security arrangements by the police will not be possible.
Due to political tension between India and Pakistan, there is a deadlock in bilateral cricket with the two rivals facing each other only in ICC or ACC tournaments.
Pakistan have said they will need government permission to travel to India for the World Cup, although the ICC is hopeful of their participation.
India refused to participate in the Asia Cup hosted by Pakistan this year, after which the tournament will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka under a hybrid model where India will play all its matches in Sri Lanka.

**Interview with Jay Shah, BCCI Secretary**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Jay. Given the announcement that the World Cup schedule will be changed, can you elaborate on what led to this decision?
**Jay Shah:** Thank you for having me. The decision to reconsider the schedule was influenced by feedback from a couple of cricket boards regarding their logistical challenges. We’ve received requests due to the tight scheduling, where some matches are just two days apart. This doesn’t allow enough time for teams to travel and prepare adequately for their next game.
**Interviewer:** That sounds quite challenging. How has this affected the plans of fans who are looking to attend the matches?
**Jay Shah:** Yes, we understand that this situation is causing difficulties for fans who plan to travel to India. With the World Cup being such a significant event, the uncertainty is undoubtedly inconvenient for them. We’re working diligently to finalize the schedule and provide clarity as soon as possible.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned working with the ICC on this. What sort of timeline are you looking at to finalize and announce the revised schedule?
**Jay Shah:** We are in active discussions with the ICC, and I anticipate that we should be able to clarify the revised schedule within the next two to three days. Our priority is to ensure that we accommodate the teams’ needs while also providing a smooth experience for fans.
**Interviewer:** Lastly, any insights on which matches might see significant changes, particularly concerning India-Pakistan clashes?
**Jay Shah:** While I cannot provide specifics at this moment, matches like India vs. Pakistan are always of great interest. We are considering all aspects, including fan experience and logistical challenges, before finalizing any changes. I’ll be able to share more details shortly.
**Interviewer:** Thank you for your time, Jay. We look forward to the updates in the coming days.
**Jay Shah:** Thank you. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through these adjustments.
