Constitutional Chamber of the TSJ declares an appeal for protection against the CNE inadmissible

The Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela declared this week the appeal for protection filed by the lawyer María Alejandra Díaz Marín is inadmissiblerepresenting the Popular Democratic Front (FDP), after the entity did not publish in detail the results of the presidential elections of July 28.

The appeal introduced by the FDP on October 30 was signed by Díaz, the economist Andrés Giuseppe, the leader of the Redes party, Juan Barreto; the national coordinator of the Popular Historical Bloc, José Luis Ibrahim Esté, the leaders of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), Oscar Figuera, Yul Jabour and Carlos Ojeda Falcón, as well as the president of Centrados, Enrique Márquez.

The group denounced the illegality of the CNE by failing to publish the detailed results and requested the Constitutional Chamber of the TSJ to order the electoral body to make public the minutes of the election.

“The non-publication of the results of the elections is a clear violation of article 155 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes (Lopre) and its General Regulations,” indicated the appeal presented.

The lawyer who filed an appeal for protection against the CNE before the Constitutional Chamber of the TSJ is suspended

In the ruling, the TSJ magistrates considered that the legal action promoted by Díaz Marín was reckless, and as a consequence They decided to temporarily suspend the lawyer for her actions in this process.

In addition, Díaz Marín will have to pay a fine equivalent to 100 times the value of the highest exchange rate of the BCV, that is, around 5,500 bolivars, taking into account that the reference currency is the euro, which this Tuesday is valued at 55.07 bolivars.

The lawyer was in the past legal advisor to the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, a professor at the Bolivarian University of Venezuela and a member of the National Constituent Assembly.
