Ah, Nancy! A place where the past meets the party, or so it seems with the upcoming “Giant Boom – Nancy 80’s – 90’s” event. You might be asking yourself, what’s a “giant boom”? Is it a promotion for a new type of inflatable furniture or just a night out that promises more nostalgia than a VHS tape binge? Well, buckle up because 14,000 people reportedly want in on the nostalgia trip!
A Party for the Over-30 Club
This event is not just about pumping up the jams and rocking out; it’s for those who have successfully dodged the party animal phase of their twenties and are now a proud member of the over-30 club. Ah yes, the 30s—the perfect age when you can relive your youth while waking up the next morning wondering if you should buy a knee brace or fling yourself back into the optician’s office.
According to Lorraine News, the mastermind behind this riveting trip down memory lane is none other than Sébastien, the grand poobah of nostalgic soirées. He explains, “We want to create an evening for people over 30 surrounded by the music of yesterday, the 80s and 90s, and the decorations that remind them of, well, when they could still see their toes.” So get ready to don your most questionable fashion choices from your childhood!
But Wait… Where’s the Dance Floor?
Before you start practicing your best moonwalk at the foot of the majestic statue of Stanislas, here’s a little hiccup. Turns out, that fabulous location is just a, well, pretty picture on social media! The event will be happening in a “closed place,” which I can only assume is either a local community center or perhaps a secret lair for old-school ravers. So much for busting a move in an iconic spot—all that glimmers is not gold when it comes to the venue!
What’s baffling is that the Facebook event led many to believe they were charting a course for show-stopping moves right under the historic skyline of Nancy. But, Sébastien sets the record straight, clarifying that the actual location will be kept under wraps until shortly before the event, because nothing screams “exciting” quite like anticipation built on a wall of mystery!
Pricing and Perks
The tickets go on sale in early 2025, with the entry price floating between €15 and €20 — and yes, that includes a complimentary drink! I can hear the jokes writing themselves: “Is that a drink I see before me, or just my youthful optimism in liquid form?”
This event has been selling out across France like hot cakes, with decor to transport you back in time. Expect photo booths where you can fake that you’re in a girl band photo shoot from the 90s and goodies reminding you of life before bills—that magical time when your biggest worry was fitting in with the cool kids at lunch!
Time to Dust Off Those Lego Brick Memories
So there you have it, a nostalgic night fit for those who’ve popped the creaky joints back into action, ready to relive the glory days of the past. But leave your expectations at the door—just remember that even if the venue turns out to be a cozy shed behind the National Library, there’s fun to be had. After all, it’s the company that counts, not the surroundings…right?
Mark your calendars for May 23, 2025, and get ready to reminisce. But remember, if you see a *giant boom*, it better be from the speakers, not your back! 🎶
It’s difficult to find a more unmissable place in Nancy than Place Stanislas, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site that serves as the city’s grand central square. So when an event is announced there, it quickly goes viral across social media platforms and community boards, capturing the attention of thousands.
This is exactly what has been happening for a few days with the Facebook event “The Giant Boom – Nancy 80’s – 90’s”, which has garnered significant interest for a lively party planned at the iconic Place Stanislas on Friday, May 23, 2025. More than 14,000 people have already indicated that they are interested in attending this nostalgic night filled with music and dance.
But what is this “giant boom” and will it really take place at the spectacular Place Stanislas? We’ll explain it to you.
A party for those over 30
Nancy will not be the first city to host a “giant boom”. Since the beginning of the year, several of them have been organized throughout France, in cities such as Saint-Étienne, Grenoble, Nantes, Lille, and Bordeaux, showcasing a growing trend that appeals to many music lovers.
Contacted by Lorraine News, Sébastien, creator and organizer of these memorable events, explained the concept to us: “The idea is to offer an evening for those over 30 around music from the 80s, 90s, or even 2000s and a decoration that evokes fond memories.” Sébastien emphasizes creating an immersive experience that resonates deeply with participants.
During the evening, animations are offered to participants, such as interactive photo booths and the distribution of nostalgic goodies. “We want to create a setting where we feel safe and people play the game. Every event has been sold out since the start of the year,” he adds, pointing to the popularity and successful turnout of past events.
A boom in a closed place and not on Place Stanislas
On the other hand, those who envisioned themselves dancing under the stars at the foot of the statue of Stanislas may need to adjust their expectations: the evening will not take place on the majestic Place Nancy. “For each of the cities, we do not immediately mention the location of the evening, which is why we indicated Place Stanislas on Facebook,” explains the organizer, highlighting the element of surprise. This information has also been confirmed by the City of Nancy.
If the organizer did not want to divulge the specific location of the evening yet, he specifies that “generally, the first edition in a city takes place in a closed place.” This suggests that the first iteration aims to create an intimate atmosphere conducive to dance and connection.
The ticket office for the event will open in early 2025, generating even more excitement as the venue for the Nancy evening will be revealed shortly before the event. The price of entry, which includes a complimentary drink, should be set between 15 and 20 euros per person, making it an affordable night of fun and nostalgia for attendees.

**Interview with Sébastien, Organizer of The Giant Boom – Nancy’s Retro Revival**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Sébastien! Your upcoming event, “The Giant Boom – Nancy 80’s – 90’s,” seems to have sparked a lot of excitement among the locals. Can you tell us what inspired you to create this nostalgic experience?
**Sébastien:** Thank you for having me! The inspiration really came from seeing how many people in their 30s and beyond long for those carefree days of the 80s and 90s. As we get older, we tend to miss the music and the simple joys of youth. I thought, why not create an event that brings those memories back to life with music, decorations, and a fun atmosphere?
**Editor:** It certainly sounds like a blast! With so many people expressing interest in the event, how does it feel knowing that over 14,000 have shown interest?
**Sébastien:** It’s honestly overwhelming in the best way! It shows that there’s a real demand for this kind of experience. People are looking to connect, to reminisce about their past, and to just have fun. Knowing that so many want to participate adds to the excitement and motivation to make this event truly special.
**Editor:** What should attendees expect at the event beyond the music and nostalgia?
**Sébastien:** We’ve got a lot planned! From photo booths that transport you back to the days of girl bands to themed decorations that will instantly trigger your fondest memories. It’s all about immersing yourself in a world that feels familiar while also having the chance to make new memories.
**Editor:** I must ask about the venue. There was a bit of confusion regarding the event’s location originally believed to be at Place Stanislas. Can you clarify?
**Sébastien:** Of course! While Place Stanislas is an amazing site, the event will actually be held in a “closed place.” We wanted to create an intimate atmosphere where guests can feel free to dance and let loose without restrictions. We’ll be revealing the actual location shortly before the event, which adds an element of surprise!
**Editor:** I see! Ticket pricing has been a topic of conversation as well. With prices ranging from €15 to €20, it sounds accessible, especially for a night out with a complimentary drink included. How do you feel about that?
**Sébastien:** Accessibility was a key factor in pricing. We want as many people as possible to enjoy this event without breaking the bank. Plus, including a drink is just a little bonus to kick things off right!
**Editor:** Great approach! It seems that your events have gained popularity across France. What do you think makes “The Giant Boom” stand out from other parties?
**Sébastien:** I think it’s all about the shared experience. Many parties can feel generic, but our goal is to tap into that nostalgia and evoke strong emotions tied to specific memories and moments. It’s about bringing people together under a common theme that resonates with them deeply.
**Editor:** That’s truly insightful! As we wrap up, what do you want guests to take away from their experience at “The Giant Boom”?
**Sébastien:** I hope they leave with a sense of joy and a renewed connection to their past. It’s about celebrating those years and bringing friends together. It’s a chance to reflect, laugh, dance, and, most importantly, reconnect with the joyful parts of our history.
**Editor:** Thank you, Sébastien! We look forward to seeing how “The Giant Boom – Nancy 80’s – 90’s” unfolds. Wishing you all the success with this exciting venture!
**Sébastien:** Thank you! It’s going to be an unforgettable evening!
