The Democratic candidate for the US presidential elections, Kamala Harris, told the press this Sunday that she voted by mail and that she is confident that her ballot will arrive in California, where she is registered.
“My ballot is on its way to California and I am going to trust the system,” said the vice president from Detroit, the main city of Michigan, one of the seven key states in these November 5 elections.
Harris indicated that “the systems that are in place for this election have integrity.” “They are good systems. And the people’s vote will determine the result,” he added.
For his part, the Republican candidate for the White House, former President Donald Trump, with a hoarse voice, criticized this Sunday at a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania – the most crucial state in these elections – the voting system in the United States, by complaining that in some places in the country you do not have to show an identification document before voting and the time it takes to count the votes.
“The world laughs at our electoral system,” noted the former president, who in recent days has begun to sow doubts about the legitimacy of the electoral results and the voting system, as when in 2020 he criticized voting by mail for considering it, based on falsehoods, fraudulent.
Trump is expected to vote in person in Florida on November 5.
More than 75 million people had already cast their ballots as of Saturday in the US election, representing more than 48% of the total number cast in the 2020 presidential election, when 154.6 million Americans voted.
