Daniel Gutierrez, Day 13,655,379
neuquen
The letter is a copy of one sent to national highway authorities in Rio Negro, La Pampa, Mendoza and San Juan.
Over the past few days we had some family issues that required us to travel from Neuquen, the city where we live, to the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan.
As has happened to us before, but now the situation has worsened significantly and all the routes we travel are in a more or less dire state of conservation, adding that this situation has existed for many years and there is no solution insight .
To illustrate the above, I describe some parts that are actually impossible to pass:
From Catriel to Colonia on May 25, until the completion of the Camino Conquistadores del Desierto (serious unevenness, fractures, craters, lack of demarcation lines),
Area close to and directly located in Santa Isabel (destroyed; cratered at various levels; virtually impassable),
Monte Coman to Ñaquñan (very poor state of protection and demarcation), Mendoza/San Juan highway (the exit is under repair, same situation if I remember correctly a year ago; the rest of the road is uneven, cracks, wells wait.
As you can see, all of the provinces covered in this note, as well as the country from which I am writing this letter, are involved to some extent in resolving this issue, or are they awaiting a million dollar lawsuit against them to provide vehicle movement minimum security? Miraculously, I didn’t need any major repairs on my vehicle.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that this concerns not only those of us who use these routes for personal or family reasons, but also the transfer of goods, affecting everything related to aspects of a commercial nature, which should be taken into account quickly.
For this reason, I invite you to walk these routes and see what your opinion is, and from there you will realize that these roads cannot be in this condition and must be repaired immediately; in my opinion, without understanding this problem The situation does not require a complete asphalt paving, but given the economic context of the country and provinces, at least general repairs and demarcation may be a solution in the short term.
I’m still available.

**Interview with Daniel Gutierrez on Highway Conditions in Argentina**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Daniel. You recently wrote a letter to highway authorities regarding the state of the roads in your region. Can you tell us what prompted you to take this action?
**Daniel Gutierrez:** Thank you for having me. My family and I had to travel from Neuquen to Mendoza and San Juan due to some family matters, and we encountered some incredibly poor road conditions. It was alarming to see how much worse the routes have become over the years; it’s a situation that has been neglected for far too long.
**Interviewer:** What specific issues did you face while traveling these routes?
**Daniel Gutierrez:** Many segments of the highways were almost impossible to navigate. There were large potholes, uneven surfaces, and in some areas, it was like driving on a dirt road. This not only makes travel uncomfortable but also poses significant safety risks for everyone on the road.
**Interviewer:** How long have these conditions been an issue in your opinion?
**Daniel Gutierrez:** These problems have persisted for years, but it seems to have reached a critical point now. Each time I travel on these roads, the deterioration becomes more apparent. It’s frustrating to see that there is still no solution in sight.
**Interviewer:** In your letter, you addressed multiple highway authorities across several provinces. What response are you hoping for from them?
**Daniel Gutierrez:** I hope they will take our concerns seriously and prioritize road maintenance and repairs. These highways are crucial for connectivity between provinces and for the local economy. We need tangible commitments to improve our road infrastructure.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Daniel, for shedding light on this pressing issue. We hope the authorities will respond accordingly and take action to improve the conditions on these highways.
**Daniel Gutierrez:** Thank you for having me. Let’s hope for a positive change.
