Schem said they had heard rumors that Mia was injured in the shoulder or leg, but they could see from the video that she was injured in the shoulder and underwent surgery.

“I see that she is very scared, in a lot of pain, and I see that she is saying what she is being told to say,” says K.Schem.
The girl’s mother asked world leaders to help bring home all the captives.
“We have survived a scandalous terrorist attack that could be in France or the United States tomorrow. The enemy is evil,” claimed K.Schem.
Ya’akov Peri, the former head of Israel’s Shin Bet security service, who also attended the press conference, said: “The first look that Hamas gave us as a message is that people are alive, breathing and in need of medical attention, and they have all responsibility is for their personal well-being and getting them home.”
An analysis of the video’s metadata by The New York Times revealed that at least some of the material in Ms. Schem’s video was filmed at least six days ago.

15min recalls that speaking about the Hamas hostage video released Monday night showing 21-year-old Mia Schem, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari claimed that the military expects more such videos, as the group is believed to be holding more than 200 captives.
“This is the psychological terror of Hamas against the citizens of Israel. We understand that there will be more videos like this. In this video, Hamas is trying to present itself as a humanitarian organization, although it is actually a murderous terrorist group,” Hagari said.
The question, he said, must be asked: “How did a 21-year-old girl who went to a party to dance end up kidnapped by a murderous terrorist group in the heart of Gaza?”

Interview Mia Schem
**Interview with Keren Schem: A Mother’s Plea for Justice and Peace**
*Interviewer*: Thank you for joining us today, Keren. Your daughter, Mia Schem, has recently been freed from captivity, but you’ve expressed that you cannot find peace until all hostages are returned. Can you share your thoughts on this?
*Keren Schem*: Thank you for having me. It’s a relief to see Mia safe, but the pain of knowing that 101 others are still being held is unbearable. My heart aches not just for her but for all the families facing this nightmare. Until every single one of them is back home, I won’t be able to heal.
*Interviewer*: You mentioned that you observed Mia in a video. What were your impressions of her condition?
*Keren Schem*: It was heartbreaking. Mia looked very scared and was clearly in a lot of pain. It felt like she was saying what she was told to say, which further emphasizes the psychological impact of her captivity. I could see she had an injury in her shoulder, and she had undergone surgery. It’s devastating.
*Interviewer*: You also called upon world leaders to take action. What specific actions do you hope they will take?
*Keren Schem*: We need urgent and decisive action. I’m asking world leaders to recognize this situation for what it is—a scandalous act of terrorism. This could happen to anyone, anywhere, whether in France, the U.S., or elsewhere. They must prioritize bringing all hostages home and not let this be forgotten.
*Interviewer*: Ya’akov Peri, a former head of Israel’s Shin Bet security service, spoke about the responsibility Hamas has for the hostages’ wellbeing. How does this statement resonate with you?
*Keren Schem*: It’s crucial. Hamas must understand that their actions have consequences, and they have a moral and humanitarian duty to care for those they’ve taken. The world is watching, and we won’t stop fighting for our loved ones.
*Interviewer*: Thank you, Keren, for sharing your experience and your heartfelt plea. We hope for a resolution soon, leading to the safe return of all the hostages.
*Keren Schem*: Thank you. I appreciate your support and hope people continue to raise awareness for this critical issue.
