In the meeting of the Sindh Assembly, the resolution regarding the formation of constitutional benches was approved.
A meeting of the Assembly was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker Sindh Assembly, during the meeting the resolution regarding the formation of constitutional benches in Sindh was presented in the House.
The resolution was presented by Provincial Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Interior Zia Linjar.
Members of MQM, PPP and PTI stood on their seats and supported the resolution while Jamaat-e-Islami member Muhammad Farooq opposed the presentation of the resolution.
The process of separation of cases for Constitution Bench and Regular Benches has started
Later, the resolution to establish constitutional benches was unanimously approved in the Sindh Assembly, 123 members of the assembly voted in support of the resolution.
Speaking at the Sindh Assembly session, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that we were waiting for the formation of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. It is not our fault if we did not come after reading the rules. , will request the JCP, to call a meeting soon.
Sindh Chief Minister said that he wants people to get justice soon, cases to be completed soon, all provinces will benefit from the 26th constitutional amendment. .
He further said that we have brought this resolution at the right time, it has given proof of responsible governance, constitutional benches should be formed as soon as possible, we have to increase the number of judges of our high court, the effects of 26th constitutional amendment. And the benefits should reach people as soon as possible.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Zia Linjar has said that it was necessary to bring a resolution under sub-clause 6 of Article 202A of the Constitution, this is a constitutional requirement.
