France and Kazakhstan deepen their health cooperation

This Monday, November 4, Geneviève Darrieussecq, Minister of Health and Access to Care, received the Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Timur Muratov, to sign a declaration of intent, aimed at joining the World Coalition countries for primary health care.

In a desire to strengthen and further develop cooperation within the framework primary health careKazakhstan proposed to France to join the Global Coalition of Countries for Primary Health Carelaunched last November by President Kassym-Jomart Tokaïev. With this in mind, the declaration of intent presents three pillars:

Strengthening primary health care approaches by integrating them with other levels of the health architecture; Promoting policy reforms focused on primary health care with the aim of achieving universal health coverage (UHC); Strengthening mobilization and international coordination for the promotion of primary health care, in particular by inviting other countries to join the Global Coalition of Countries for Primary Health Care.

It was also the occasion for the signing of two memorandums of understanding by the director of the School of Advanced Studies in Public Health (EHESP), Isabelle Richard, with respectively the Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan and the rector of Karaganda Medical University, Anar Turmukhambetova.

France and Kazakhstan: cooperation already institutionalized

In recent years, French-Kazakhstan cooperation in health has strongly strengthened.
