Despite this, recently there have been “clouds” in the relations between the two confederations. Specifically, ADEDY proceeded to publicize the letter sent by GSEE, which, as it emphasizes, finds no response to its calls for the co-organization of the 24-hour nationwide strike that the two confederations have decided for November 20.
It should be noted that initially ADEDY had announced a strike for November 13, followed by GSEE which announced for November 20 and then ADEDY moved the date to coincide with the strikes in the public and private sectors.
The letter sent by the Executive Committee of ADEDY to the administration of GSEE:
“Colleagues,
The Executive Committee of A.D.E.D.Y. proposes for the General Strike of 20her of November common platform in Klathmonos Square and common banner.
We point out that the Executive Committee of ADEDY, like GSEE, has designated Klathmonos Square as the meeting place. Because, so far in the telephone communications we have had with members of your administration we have not received any positive response, please let us know as soon as possible if you agree with our proposal.
The installation of two stands in the same place, on the same day and at the same time, will have an extremely negative impact on the workers and society.”
We remind you that on Monday, September 30, the GSEE announced a strike on November 20, demanding measures against punctuality, the increased prices of rents and the purchase of houses, as well as the restoration of the Collective Labor Law.
The announcement of the GSEE on the strike on November 20
Dealing with punctuality, the increased prices of rents and the housing market, as well as the restoration of the Collective Labor Law, were at the center of today’s Plenary meeting of the GSEE.
The Confederation, given the fact that the Government is not taking any meaningful measures to address these critical issues plaguing private sector workers but instead is implementing measures that are exacerbating their problems, decided:
- the realization of a 24-hour General Strike for Wednesday 20 November 2024
- the implementation of an information campaign, which will begin immediately in all regions of the country, with particular emphasis on Athens and Thessaloniki, with the aim of massive and unifying participation in the 24-hour General Strike.
The Government is unable to implement policies that strengthen the purchasing power of employees, which has decreased by 8% since 2019. The bonus policy and passes unfortunately do not solve the problems. Immediate measures are needed to deal with the oligopolistic structure of the market and the cartels, the restructuring of labor relations and the Collective Labor Law as well as the implementation of social housing programs with the reserve of 1.5 billion from the former Labor Home.
These measures meet the real needs of workers in the private sector and we will fight for the implementation of these measures.
Strike on Wednesday 20 November: What will happen to the means of transport
GSEE and ADEDY may have announced the strike from about the middle of September, but it is still unknown what will happen to the means of public transport.
Closed schools and ADEDY 24-hour strike on November 20
The peak of closed schools is Wednesday, November 20, when the 24-hour strike in which ADEDY participates is scheduled. The Teachers’ Federation has already declared that it will fully participate in the strike mobilization, so it is expected that we will have closed schools in Kindergartens and Primary Schools as well as changes in the lessons.
At the moment there is no relevant report on how the EVERYONE however, given the participation of ADEDY, it is certain that the teachers will also participate in the 24-hour strike.
Private teachers are also on strike
Finally, participation in the 24-hour strike on November 20 has also been announced by private teachers through HELLO. In their relevant announcement, the private teachers emphasize that they are on strike with the main demands being the reinstatement of the collective bargaining regime in Tutoring Schools, Foreign Language Centers and SAEK (formerly IEK) and salary increases and the return of gifts to private schools. As they proclaim in their text “We ask for brave increases and the restoration of the 13th and 14th salary! Teachers must work with decent working conditions and pay, they must enter their classrooms with their heads held high and not impoverished and humiliated.”
University students have also been mobilizing since November 12
University students are also choosing the path of protest, with POSDEP calling for strike action. In particular, with its announcement, the Panhellenic Federation of Teaching and Research Staff Associations (POSDEP) calls on the Associations of Faculty members to go on strike and other protest mobilizations from 12/11/24 to 20/11/24.
The announcement of POSDEP on the strike actions
Below is the detailed announcement of POSDEP:
“Current faculty salaries are in nominal terms lower than in 2003, by 9%. This does not happen to any other category of civil servants or officials. By comparison, in 2024 relative to 2003, in nominal terms the Consumer Price Index has increased 45%, GDP has increased 25%, and the minimum wage has increased 60%.
The losses only from the failure of the state to comply already in 2014 with the decision of the CoE on the minimum level of our salaries, correspond to an annual salary, while the accumulated losses due to the failure of faculty members from increases given to the special salary scales in the period 2008-2009, they amount to 3.5 annual salaries at least. The losses of this period have a correspondingly significant impact on pensionable earnings. The perennial salary degradation of faculty members cannot continue.
POSDEP,
– stressing that the substantial salary upgrade of University professors is an essential condition for the armoring, strengthening and upgrading of the Greek public university,
– and pointing out that the regulations of Law 5045/2023 for the new salary of faculty members did not bring about full compliance with the decision 1911/2022 of the Council of Ministers which defines a minimum salary level, and apparently do not cover the multi-year salary losses of faculty members ,
claims
– a new salary scale for the restoration of the salaries of faculty members, who are practically paid with the 2003 salary scale, at levels worthy of their function and competitive compared to the salaries in European universities, but also the salaries of other categories of civil servants who are paid with a special salary scale ,
– the specific requests referred to in the 19-9-2024 decision of the EG (*
– a significant increase in staff, of all categories, in Universities with the aim of the sustainability and development of the Institutions
– a bold increase in the funding, regular and extraordinary, of the Universities in order to adequately address the increased operating costs, to modernize and expand the material and technological infrastructures and to substantially strengthen, especially in the regional institutions, the network of student care interventions.
To promote the requests of university professors, the EO of POSDEP:
• takes initiatives to disseminate and promote financial requests, and will present these requests in evidence to the leadership of the Ministry of Finance, parliamentary parties and the media
• calls on the Associations of faculty members to take decisions on actions and strike or other mobilizations during the time period from 12/11/24 to 20/11/24, with the aim of promoting and asserting the above demands
• calls for nationwide coordination of the actions of the Faculty Associations and other categories of staff especially for Tuesday, November 12, while for Wednesday, November 20, the day of the all-employee-all-employee strike announced by ADEDY and GSEE, calls for participation in the strike mobilizations
• stands by and supports the fair economic claims of other categories of workers”.

Google AdSense code example
It looks like you’ve provided a snippet of JavaScript code related to ad management and integration for a web page. This script seems to include functionality for loading various ad services such as Google AdSense, OneSignal for notifications, Disqus for comments, and potentially other ad services like Taboola and Phaistos Adman. Here are some points that might help you further understand or improve this code:
### Key Components:
1. **Ads Loading and Removal:**
The script checks if there are adsense slots available and subsequently removes or handles them accordingly.
2. **Ad Service Initializations:**
– **OneSignal** is initialized with a specific app ID which is used for push notifications.
– **Disqus** is set up with specific page parameters (URL and identifier).
3. **Asynchronous Script Loading:**
The function `asyncLoadScript` is mentioned but not shown in its full definition. This function would typically be used to load JavaScript files asynchronously to avoid blocking the rendering of a web page.
4. **Script Delays:**
There are set timeouts to accommodate the loading of certain scripts, ensuring that the necessary elements are likely present in the DOM before the scripts run.
5. **Conditional Checks:**
The script conditionally loads certain features based on whether specific elements exist on the page, helping to optimize performance and load times.
### Recommendations:
1. **Script Definitions:**
Ensure that functions such as `asyncLoadScript` and `asyncLoadModule` are properly defined elsewhere in your code to avoid errors.
2. **Handle Network Errors:**
Implement error handling in the script loading process, so you can manage failures to load external resources gracefully.
3. **Performance Considerations:**
Consider measuring the performance impact of loading numerous scripts. Tools like Lighthouse can help analyze the page load time and overall performance.
4. **Security with CSP:**
If applicable, implement Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to alleviate potential security risks from loading third-party scripts.
5. **Maintainability:**
Keep the code organized and document any complex sections, including where third-party services are integrated, to aid future maintenance.
6. **Debugging:**
If issues arise, utilize console logging or debugging tools in the browser to trace the execution flow and pinpoint any problematic areas.
