Simon Aloysius Mantiri Replaces Nicke Widyawati as President Director of Pertamina

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir removed Nicke Widyawati’s position as main director (president director) of PT Pertamina (Persero). This was decided at the Pertamina General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) as stated in SK-258/MBU/11/2024 and SK-259/MBU/11/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of the Board of Commissioners and Directors of the Company (Persero) PT Pertamina.

Nicke’s position was replaced by former Deputy Treasurer of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo Subbianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, who is also deputy secretary of the Gerindra Party advisory board for the 2020-2025 period.

Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, explained that the appointment and dismissal of directors and commissioners of BUMN including Pertamina is the authority of the Government as a shareholder represented by the Minister of BUMN.

“Change of company leadership is a normal and reasonable process in accordance with existing regulations,” said Fadjar in an official statement, Monday (4/11).

Apart from that, Erick also appointed Mochamad Iriawan alias Iwan Bule as President Commissioner of Pertamina, Dony Oskaria as Deputy President Commissioner of Pertamina, Raden Adjeng Sondaryani as Independent Commissioner of Pertamina.

Fadjar said that the presence of a new leader would provide new energy to ensure Pertamina’s sustainability in the future. The leadership of the previous board of directors will be a solid foundation for achieving the Company’s progress and realizing national energy security and independence.

In June 2024, Simon served as President Commissioner of Pertamina. Then, in the new ranks of the board of commissioners, Mochamad Iriawan, who currently serves as President Commissioner of Pertamina, is a retired high-ranking Indonesian National Police officer who most recently served as Principal Secretary of the National Resilience Institute (LEMHANAS). Dony Oskaria, who serves as Deputy Main Commissioner of Pertamina, currently serves as Deputy Minister of BUMN. Meanwhile, Raden Adjeng Sondaryani as Independent Commissioner of Pertamina previously served as Chair of the Trisakti University Petroleum Alumni Association.
