In a short circuit between news, justice and politics on the day in which the judges rule that Italy cannot send irregular migrants back to Egypt because it is an “unsafe country”, the details of the attack against the 44-year-old train conductor, Rosario, emerge Ventura, injured with two stab wounds on the platform of the Rivarolo station. He is a 21-year-old of Egyptian origins, Fares Kamel Salem Alshahhat, the young man arrested today by the Genoa police. First the minor attacked the man with slaps and kicks, then the 21 year old pulled out a knife and hit the conductor. The military was on site and quickly tracked down the two thanks to the testimonies provided by other travelers and took them to the barracks, where they were heard as witnesses to the episode until this evening. The 21-year-old of Egyptian origins works as a barber and is registered in the area; he will have to answer for aggravated injuries and resisting a public official. They gave the police no explanation for the gesture. The controller, taken to hospital under code red at Villa Scassi in Genoa Sampierdarena, was treated and then discharged with a 15-day prognosis.
According to what the Genoa Carabinieri reported, who intervened with the Radiomobile Unit at the Genoa Rivarolo station, the couple, when asked to show the ticket, “with a careless attitude, replied that they had no intention of paying for it”. The train was then stopped: the girl, a minor, then began “to rant and spit at the conductor. The 21-year-old boy would have done the same thing towards a passenger”, the military reports. Once they got off the train, the girl also hit the conductor with a couple of slaps and a kick. Then, her partner stabbed him once or twice, at the height of the shoulder blade.
