Gaza – On Monday, the Israeli army carried out a violent air and artillery bombardment on the northern Gaza Strip as its military operation in the region entered its second month, while the government information office in Gaza revealed the outcome of a month of the ongoing operation.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the Al-Fakhoura area in the Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip, was subjected to violent Israeli bombardment.
Al-Aqsa TV also reported violent bombardment, accompanied by the firing of smoke shells, at the Al-Qasasib area, east of Jabalia camp.
In parallel with the aerial and artillery bombardment, the occupation forces this morning blew up other residential homes in western Jabalia.
Al-Aqsa TV also reported a series of successive explosions and rising smoke columns as a result of air strikes and artillery shelling in areas of the Beit Lahia project.
The Al Jazeera correspondent said that Israeli warplanes targeted two houses in the Beit Lahia project, resulting in martyrs and injuries, adding that another Palestinian was martyred in the nearby Al-Saftawi area, and others were injured in a bombing from an Israeli march west of the Jabalia camp.
A month ago, the Israeli army began a military operation aimed at isolating the northern Gaza Strip, during which it suffered loss of life, the most recent of which was the killing of 4 of its soldiers in the past two days.
The operation specifically targeted Jabalia camp and Beit Lahia, and resulted in horrific massacres against civilians.
The Government Information Office in Gaza announced on Monday that 1,800 Palestinians were martyred and 4,000 others were injured as a result of the ongoing attack on the northern Gaza Strip.
In Gaza City, the Israeli army bombed areas in the Al-Zaytoun and Al-Sabra neighborhoods, while gunboats targeted the fishermen’s port west of the city.
In the central Gaza Strip, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that two Palestinians were martyred and others injured on Monday as a result of the occupation forces targeting the Nuseirat camp and its surroundings with drones and artillery.
For his part, Palestinian journalist Saed Al-Zaanin reported that Israeli military vehicles advanced through Salah al-Din Street to the Al-Dawa Street area in northern Nuseirat.
The vehicles advanced from the Netzarim axis, which separates the central and southern Gaza Strip from the north, and where the Israeli army established a military base.
Also in the center of the Strip, Israeli artillery bombed the southeastern areas of the city of Deir al-Balah.
In the south of the Gaza Strip, Israeli tanks opened heavy fire around the town of Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis.
Areas in the city of Khan Yunis itself were also subjected to artillery shelling, and the bombing on Khan Yunis resulted in martyrs in the past hours.
In nearby Rafah, the occupation forces blew up residential buildings on Monday morning, and the Shaboura camp in the city center and the western neighborhoods were subjected to artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli helicopters.
The bombing continues on Khan Yunis and Rafah, while residents and displaced people in these areas face the specter of famine.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli aggression has resulted in the death of more than 43,000 Palestinians and the injury of about 103,000 others.

**Interview with Dr. Samira Khalil, Humanitarian Affairs Analyst**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Dr. Khalil. Given the recent Israeli bombardment in Gaza, can you summarize the current humanitarian situation for us?
**Dr. Khalil:** Thank you for having me. The situation in Gaza is dire and escalating. As reported, the Israeli military operations have intensified over the past month, particularly in regions like Jabalia and Beit Lahia. The bombardment has resulted in significant civilian casualties, with at least 1,800 Palestinians killed and around 4,000 injured. This is absolutely tragic, especially considering the number of children among the victims.
**Interviewer:** How is this level of violence impacting the daily lives of people in Gaza?
**Dr. Khalil:** The impact is catastrophic. Families are living in constant fear, with nowhere to find safety amidst the ongoing strikes. Many have lost their homes not only to the bombings but also to the destruction of entire neighborhoods. Access to basic needs—such as food, water, and medical care—is severely limited. The infrastructure has been heavily damaged, complicating the delivery of humanitarian aid.
**Interviewer:** Reportedly, the Israeli operations have also targeted residential areas. What implications does this have for international humanitarian law?
**Dr. Khalil:** Targeting civilian infrastructure and homes raises serious concerns regarding compliance with international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of civilians in conflict zones. Such actions often constitute violations, as they may be deemed indiscriminate or disproportionate. These allegations need thorough investigation, as they can contribute to further escalation of violence and hinder peace processes.
**Interviewer:** What can be done at this stage to alleviate the humanitarian crisis?
**Dr. Khalil:** Immediate ceasefire is essential to halt the violence and provide relief to those affected. Additionally, international humanitarian organizations need unimpeded access to deliver aid. Long-term, there needs to be a concerted diplomatic effort to address the underlying issues that contribute to the conflict and find a sustainable solution that respects the rights and security of both Palestinians and Israelis.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Dr. Khalil, for sharing your insights on this critical situation.
**Dr. Khalil:** Thank you for bringing attention to this urgent issue. The people of Gaza need global awareness and support now more than ever.
