Two weeks after the vaccination days began in Tijuana, Tecate and Playas de Rosarito, 36% of the available doses have been applied, reported the vaccination supervisor of Health Jurisdiction Number 2, Lady Alejo.
The state official highlighted that the goals that were set at the beginning of this process have been met, although it will be reinforced with the development of workshops in different neighborhoods of the city.
“We are going according to expectations in relation to the goals they request, we have made favorable progress with the people, but we need to reinforce a little more the strategy of how to reach the population, with house-to-house brigades and sweeping of some areas,” he commented.
He specified that in these little more than 15 days, 12,013 doses of influenza and 7,615 against Covid-19 have been applied.
Although the Abdala vaccine, of Cuban origin, is being applied in Tijuana, he rejected that this has been an inhibitor for more people to be immunized against Covid-19, however, he accepted that there are sectors such as adults who have not wanted to get vaccinated.
“We are working in the localities, sweeping from house to house, we are working in schools, in colleges and we have had good responses from teachers, students and parents. We have not had a problem in relation to the request for vaccination, they now see it as more normalized, they already do it every year,” he commented.

Finally, he indicated that they will continue vaccinating in the different health centers, the Health Jurisdiction, as well as in traveling points in the municipalities of Tijuana, Tecate and Playas de Rosarito.
“It is important to prevent diseases in this winter season, so that they go to the nearest health units and can request the vaccine at any module,” he concluded.
Vaccination Progress in Tijuana: The Good, The Bad, and The Hilarious
Well folks, it seems the vaccination campaign in Tijuana, Tecate, and Playas de Rosarito is off to a rather sprightly start – a marvelous 36% of the available doses have already found their way into the eager arms of the populace. That’s about as much action as my dating life pre-lockdown, and trust me, that’s saying something!
Lady Alejo: The Vaccination Supervisor Who’s Keeping Score
The ever-enthusiastic Lady Alejo, the local health supervisor, is strutting around like a cat that just caught a particularly juicy mouse. She reports that the vaccination goals set at the beginning of this pandemic saga are being met. But, and it’s a big “but”, they’re planning to ramp up the operation by rolling out workshops. Workshops! Because what better way to convince someone to get a needle in the arm than a fun workshop? Might as well throw in some arts and crafts while you’re at it!
Doses Administered: Numbers Game
In just over 15 days, 12,013 doses of influenza and 7,615 against Covid-19 have been diligently jabbed into the arms of the brave – or perhaps just the slightly confused. Now that’s a number that even your auntie would be proud of when she shares it on Facebook! Just remember, folks, this is not a competition. Unless you’re counting how many times you can make your friends cringe with bad vaccine jokes!
What’s In The Vaccine? Cuban Waves and Hesitance
Now, some are raising eyebrows about the Abdala vaccine from Cuba being used in Tijuana. Apparently, it’s not messing with people’s willingness to roll up their sleeves. But let’s face it, some sectors, particularly a few adults, are still playing hard to get when it comes to vaccination. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? That time you thought you could charm your way into getting a free meal by asking for just one more dessert – only to face sheer rejection. But fear not, these health warriors are going house-to-house like they’re on a mission to sell you the latest kitchen gadget!
Community Engagement: Tugging at the Heartstrings
“We’re working in schools, colleges, and even winning over teachers, students, and parents!” Lady Alejo proclaimed with glee, like a player who’s just scored a last-minute goal. I mean, finally, an audience that’s responding positively! It’s become as normal as getting a Christmas gift from your strange uncle that you dread seeing each holiday season. Vaccinations? Yeah, we’ll just add that to the “must do” list like dentist appointments and those early morning jogs you keep promising yourself!
What’s Next for Tijuana?
As the health authorities continue to wave the vaccination flag, they’ve promised to keep those health centers buzzing with life, and more importantly, keep the vaccines flowing. Imagine this: a traveling vaccination crew coming to your neighborhood! “You’re just in time for the flu shot, folks! Queue up, and don’t forget your mustard – I mean mask!”
Conclusion: Let’s Get Jabbing!
As winter approaches, the importance of prevention is draped across the health agenda like a well-worn quilt from grandma. The message here is simple: get down to your nearest health unit and request that vaccine – you deserve it! After all, if there’s one thing we can’t afford as a community, it’s the inability to laugh in the face of a health crisis while ensuring we do everything possible to stay healthy.
So, to all you vaccine-hesitant chaps out there – it’s time to stop being ridiculous. Let’s jab those needles like a magician pulling out rabbits from a hat, and who knows, maybe you’ll leave feeling a little bit magical too. Now that’s a brilliant plan!

**Lady Alejo:** Thank you for having me! Yes, we’re excited to report that 36% of our available doses have been administered in just two weeks. Our goals have been met thus far, which is encouraging. However, we recognize the need for more outreach to ensure everyone gets vaccinated.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned you’d be rolling out workshops to engage the community. What can we expect from these workshops?
**Lady Alejo:** Absolutely! We plan to engage residents through informative and interactive workshops in various neighborhoods. The idea is to discuss the benefits of vaccines and answer any questions they may have. We believe that learning can be fun, and we hope to normalize vaccination further in our community.
**Interviewer:** In less than 15 days, you’ve administered over 19,000 doses! What does that break down into for flu and COVID-19?
