Minister of Trade Budi Santoso revealed that the three work programs of the Ministry of Trade are part of the Quick Win of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. The three work programs are Domestic Market Security, Export Market Expansion, and Strengthening Small and Medium Enterprises.
“The focus of the Ministry of Trade’s work program is three, namely Securing the Domestic Market, Expanding the Export Market, and Increasing Export SMEs. “These three work programs are the Ministry of Trade’s contribution to the preparation of the Quick Wins Program for ministries in the economic sector,” explained Budi in his official statement, Monday (4/11).
In the Domestic Market Security Work Program, Budi targets the utilization of 22 markets built by 2024. This target is aimed at accelerating the utilization of 22 markets built using Assistance Task Funds in accordance with Minister of Trade Regulation Number 9 of 2024 which was promulgated on 28 May 2024. The next target is settlement of Anti-Dumping Import Duties (BMAD) on nylon products from China, Thailand and Taiwan as well as Safeguard Measures Import Duties (BMTP) on ready-made clothing. The aim is to reduce potential losses and protect domestic industry from a flood of imports and unfair imports.

The next target is continuous trade supervision for 40 types of products and supervision at Christmas and New Year (Nataru). Because, he sees the need to support the smooth distribution of basic necessities and important goods, increase circulating goods that meet the provisions, and ensure that consumers get goods and services according to the size stated. The final target of this work program is to increase the transaction value of domestic products on National Online Shopping Day (HarBolNas) by 50 percent. This is aimed at increasing micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) transactions in the market place.
“We believe that government support for the domestic market plays an important role in empowering the community’s economy. “Especially, in buying and selling activities in the community, local industry, and consumer protection,” he said.
Furthermore, in the Export Market Expansion Work Program, Budi targets the completion of three bilateral trade negotiations between Indonesia and three partner countries, namely Canada, Eurasia and Peru. Currently, negotiations between Indonesia and Canada are still ongoing in a comprehensive economic partnership scheme (Indonesia—Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement/ICA—CEPA), with Eurasia in a free trade scheme (Indonesia—Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement/IEAEU—FTA), as well as with Peru in the Indonesia—Peru CEPA scheme.
