Five laureates of MJJ Foundation scholarships for studies at prestigious foreign universities

The MJJ Foundation has already provided almost 1.8 million in more than four years of operation. EUR worth of grants, scholarships and investments for talented business developers, academics and students who are striving and able to contribute to the growth of the Lithuanian economy, according to the press release of the MJJ Foundation.

Philanthropist Marius Jakulis Jason always equates education with a guarantor of success, therefore, by awarding scholarships, the foundation aims to enable the young generation to go study in the most promising study programs abroad, where the acquired knowledge will be used to create a successful future of Lithuania upon their return.

According to the head of the MJJ Foundation, Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė, it is necessary to encourage young people to gain international experience and acquire knowledge at the world’s best universities:

“In order to empower the talents who create Lithuania, we must provide them with all the conditions for improvement – then we can expect the implementation of innovative, relevant projects and businesses that create social impact. In total, we have already awarded scholarships for studies to 29 master’s students, and looking at the students who have already returned to Lithuania after studying at the world’s best universities, I understand that this is a great way to bring international ideas and experience to Lithuania,” says K, head of the MJJ Foundation. MJJ Knowledge grants are awarded to five graduate students

Doctor Donata Raube was awarded the MJJ Knowledge scholarship for the master’s studies in endoscopic skull base surgery at the University of Insubria.

Donata is an otorhinolaryngologist who works in the department of ear, nose and throat diseases in Santaras clinics, performing the most complex endoscopic endonasal surgeries. Donata will apply the knowledge acquired during her master’s studies in practice and provide the highest level of services to Lithuanians, using the latest, minimally invasive treatment methods in the treatment of skull base and brain tumors.

The MJJ Knowledge Grant for Master’s studies in Education, University of Oxford, is dedicated to Emilija Platūkyte. During her undergraduate studies, Emilija acquired strong theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of social sciences and realized that education is her future field of study.

This is what encouraged the student to choose the Master’s studies in Education, which will provide the competences necessary for the formation of an innovative education system in Lithuania and the world. After her studies, Emilija will join the public sector and contribute to academic programs in Lithuania with her competences. For Emilija, the MJJ Foundation scholarship was established in cooperation with the “Kitas 100” competition of the State Study Fund.

Paulina Kulyta is awarded the MJJ Knowledge Grant for the Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Cambridge.

Paulina actively deepens her knowledge in AI application and natural language processing methods, organizes artificial intelligence classes for students. After completing her master’s studies, Paulina hopes that she will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of the artificial intelligence academic community in Lithuania.

Bioinformatics student Ieva Pudžiūvelyte has been awarded the MJJ Knowledge Scholarship for the Computational Biology and Bioninformatics master’s program at ETH Zurich University.

Choosing to study in Switzerland, Ieva has no doubts about the quality of university studies in the fields of life, mathematics and computer science. She believes that these are priority and highly valuable directions not only in Lithuania, but also in the whole of Europe. After her studies, Ieva will effectively contribute to the development of life sciences, information technologies and bioinformatics and will continue her work in Lithuania.

The MJJ Knowledge Scholarship for the master’s program Basic and Translational Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge is dedicated to Liucija Vaicenavičiūta. This program is special because of its focus on the applied aspect of neuroscience.

Lucija, becoming a specialist in applied neurosciences, will aim to create medicinal and psychosocial interventions to improve the psychological well-being of children in Lithuania. After completing her master’s studies, Liucija plans to return to Lithuania and join the scientific research groups operating here.

“One of the areas in which I would like to contribute to the development is the activity of the Mental Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. In its activities, this department not only emphasizes the medicinal solution of health problems, but also aims to apply psychosocial interventions, similar to those whose effectiveness we evaluated during a study with a team of four experts from the Association of Integrative Neurosciences,” shares scholarship winner Lucija.

By accepting the MJJ Foundation scholarships, all the young scientists undertook to share their knowledge in articles and video blogs during their studies, and to use the knowledge acquired during their studies upon returning to Lithuania.

The purpose of investor and philanthropist Marius Jakulis Jason Foundation is to provide financial support to talented business developers, academics and students who can and want to contribute to the growth of the Lithuanian economy. Fund funds are allocated to three directions: Business, Knowledge and Science, and today the foundation has already allocated almost 1.8 million to the laureates in these directions. euros and announces them on its website www.mjjfondas.lt.

**Interview with Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė, Head of the MJJ Foundation**

So far, we have awarded scholarships to 29 master’s students, many of whom have returned to⁢ Lithuania and are already applying their skills in various sectors to contribute to our ​economy.
