**Interview with Justice Retired Maqbool Baqir, Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us, Justice Baqir. Recent reports indicate a surge in abductions in rural Sindh. What measures are being taken to address this alarming situation?
**Justice Baqir:** Thank you for having me. We are actively working to combat the rise in abductions. I have directed law enforcement agencies to intensify operations against bandits operating in these areas. We are committed to restoring safety and security for all residents.
**Editor:** Internet services have been suspended in rural regions as part of these efforts. Could you explain the rationale behind this decision?
**Justice Baqir:** Yes, the suspension of internet services is a tactical decision aimed at disrupting the coordination of criminal activities. By limiting communication options for these outlaws, we can better position our law enforcement teams to conduct successful operations.
**Editor:** Sindh’s Law and Human Rights Minister, Mohammad Umar Soomro, has warned against complicity from local landlords and politicians. How significant is the role of local power structures in these abductions?
**Justice Baqir:** Unfortunately, local power dynamics can often complicate our efforts. We believe that some landlords and local politicians may have links to criminal elements. Our focus is on holding these individuals accountable, and legal actions will be pursued against anyone found complicit with dacoits.
**Editor:** You mentioned that 218 citizens have been abducted this year, with a majority recovered. What steps are being taken to ensure the remaining hostages are safely returned?
**Justice Baqir:** We take every abduction case very seriously. The IG Sindh has reported an impressive recovery rate, but we are not stopping there. I have instructed law enforcement to prioritize the safe return of the remaining hostages. We are also gathering intelligence to locate and apprehend those responsible.
**Editor:** Thank you, Justice Baqir, for your insights. We hope for a swift resolution to these issues in Sindh.
**Justice Baqir:** Thank you. We are determined to restore peace and ensure justice for all citizens of Sindh.
