Minister of Culture Fadli Zon revealed plans to unite various regulations related to culture into one law (UU) called the Cultural Omnibus Law. The regulations will begin to be formulated next year.
“Later we will create a team. This is a new ministry. So we will collect it, maybe next year we will start to put it together,” said Fadli in his office, Jakarta, Monday (4/10).
He admitted that currently his party is still busy taking care of preparing the organizational structure and work procedures.
“There aren’t even any officials yet. Maybe next year we will start discussing the Omnibus Law on Culture,” he added.
Fadli considers it necessary to make the Cultural Law into one large unit. The reason is that currently there are too many regulations related to women’s business and they overlap with each other.
“Now there is a Museum Law. Maybe someone else will propose a Music Law later. However, if we had one Cultural Omnibus Law, we could collect everything in one law to make it simpler,” he concluded. (Z-11)
