Following the devastating impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Hillsborough County is grappling with an overwhelming estimated $1.8 billion in damages. In a remarkable show of community support, BayCare stepped up with a generous $300,000 donation to assist organizations such as Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries, and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. The much-anticipated yet-to-be-named restaurant is scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2025.
Tampa International Airport Plans Expansion

In line with its growing popularity, the airport has greenlit an ambitious $1.5 billion expansion plan for Airside D — marking its first new gate area in nearly 20 years. This state-of-the-art, 16-gate facility is designed to accommodate both international and domestic flights, and will be situated on the northwest side of TPA’s main terminal. The new Airside D is also set to feature a central hub that will offer an extensive array of shopping and dining choices for travelers.

The upcoming Wild Oasis realm is designed to rejuvenate the area previously occupied by the long-closed Treetop Trails attraction in the park’s Jungala section, which has been inaccessible to visitors for five years. Wild Oasis will boast a range of exciting features, including a thrilling drop tower ride, an engaging interactive water play zone, a multi-species animal habitat, and a dynamic multi-level climbing canopy designed for adventurous guests of all ages.
