The Israeli opposition leader added in a blog post on the “X” platform on Saturday evening: “The attempt to distort and exonerate the Shin Bet investigation has already begun. We will not allow this to happen.”
He continued, saying in a video clip: “Netanyahu’s narrative is that it is about leaks, everyone leaks.”
He added: “This is not about leaks, but about using secret intelligence materials to thwart a hostage deal, risking intelligence sources and the lives of soldiers, all from the Prime Minister’s Office in the midst of war.”
Opposition members of the Foreign and Defense Committee, led by Knesset Member Meir Cohen (Chairman of the Committee), are calling for an emergency meeting regarding the leak of secret documents from the Prime Minister’s Office and their attempt to cover up the Shin Bet investigations.
The request stated: “It is a serious issue, and it is the way in which the Prime Minister and his entourage deliberately harm the deals for the return of the abductees, the struggle of the people, and public opinion in Israel, while completely trampling on the security of the state.”
On Friday, the Hebrew “Channel 13” revealed a security case related to the involvement of employees in Netanyahu’s office in leaking documents related to the security and political institutions, as the Magistrate’s Court in the city of Rishon LeZion allowed the ban on some details of the case related to the management of the war on Gaza to be lifted.
Media sources reported that the talk is that the document, which may be very secret or was deliberately drafted and leaked by a team close to Netanyahu, included information that claimed that the head of the Palestinian faction movement, Yahya Sinwar, is not interested in stopping the war, and is exploiting the families of Israeli detainees in order to put pressure on Netanyahu’s government. To accept the prisoner exchange deal.
The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” said that the spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office was suspected of leaking confidential documents to the German newspaper “Bild” and Israeli reporters, and published pictures of him.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation “Kan 11” reported on Friday evening that a number of suspects had been arrested in the case, and that the suspicions attributed to them are “leaking sensitive information, exposing the state to danger, and harming the objectives of the war in Gaza.”
In response, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied the information circulated by Hebrew and American media regarding the arrest of people in his office against the backdrop of a security issue related to the war in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported, quoting an Israeli security official, that there is an entire group in Netanyahu’s office working in secret, recruiting agents within the army, forging documents, and publishing misleading news to thwart the exchange deal.
Hebrew media also confirmed that investigations are underway into the possibility that leakers of sensitive security information received orders from higher-ranking officials.

**Interview with Political Analyst Dr. Sarah Levi on Recent Intelligence Leak Allegations Against Netanyahu’s Office**
**Host:** Welcome back to the show. Today, we have Dr. Sarah Levi, a political analyst and expert on Israeli defense policy, to discuss the recent scandal surrounding classified leaks allegedly made by a detained aide to Prime Minister Netanyahu. Thank you for joining us, Dr. Levi.
**Dr. Levi:** Thank you for having me.
**Host:** Let’s start with the basics. Can you explain what has been reported about the alleged leaks and how they’re affecting the current political climate in Israel?
**Dr. Levi:** Certainly. The allegations suggest that an aide to Prime Minister Netanyahu leaked classified intelligence that may have compromised ongoing hostage negotiations during a very sensitive time. This has sparked intense scrutiny not just of the aide’s actions, but also of Netanyahu’s office and the broader implications for national security.
**Host:** Opposition leaders have asserted that this is not just about leaking information but about using intelligence inappropriately. What do you make of their claims?
**Dr. Levi:** The opposition is framing this as a grave issue that goes beyond typical leaks. They argue that using intelligence for political maneuvering during wartime is highly irresponsible. This voice is gaining traction as they seek accountability from Netanyahu, especially since lives are at stake in hostage situations.
**Host:** There are calls for an emergency meeting of the Foreign and Defense Committee regarding this leak. How significant is this move?
**Dr. Levi:** It’s a very significant move. An emergency meeting indicates that the opposition is serious about holding the government accountable for what they see as a potentially dangerous breach of protocol and security. It underscores the high stakes involved—both in terms of public trust and national security.
**Host:** The media has reported that some details of this security case are being kept under wraps. How does this impact transparency and public trust?
**Dr. Levi:** When details are sealed off from the public, it raises suspicions about what may be concealed. This can erode trust not just in the Prime Minister’s office, but also in the governmental institutions responsible for security. Transparency is crucial in these matters, especially when the populace is directly affected.
**Host:** Lastly, what do you foresee as the potential fallout from this situation for Netanyahu’s government?
**Dr. Levi:** If the allegations are proven credible, it could lead to significant political fallout, possibly undermining Netanyahu’s leadership during this critical time. There’s already a growing perception of mismanagement in how the situation has been handled, which could embolden the opposition and provoke calls for greater oversight.
**Host:** Thank you, Dr. Levi, for your insights on this developing story. It’s clear that the situation is fluid and will continue to evolve.
**Dr. Levi:** Thank you for having me. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
**Host:** Stay tuned for more updates on this situation as it develops.
