Eplus3D has now installed more than 100 Laser PowderBed Fusion systems in the European Union. The Chinese manufacturer announced this on the eve of Formnext. At the same time, it introduces a new medium format 3D printer with a construction chamber specially adapted to wider components.

The Chinese Eplus3D has had a European branch near Stuttgart for two years. This has not helped the manufacturer of laser powder AM systems, as it has now installed more than 100 metal AM systems for European customers. These 3D metal printers are used in various sectors.

In addition to the 64 laser machine, there is also a new medium format system

Meanwhile, the development of new models continues unabated in China. In the first half of this year, Eplus3D introduced the EP-M2050, a system with a construction volume of 2050x2050x1100 mm, equipped with 64 lasers. Optionally, the Z-axis can be increased to 2,000 mm. Last month the manufacturer released a new model for medium format workpieces. The EP-M4650 has a building chamber with a volume of 450x750x530 mm. A different size, compared to what is common in medium to large format 3D metal printers. Usually the building rooms are square.

Construction volume up to 750mm width

This building chamber allows wider workpieces to be produced, thanks to the width of 750 mm. According to Eplus3D, the volume and shape of the construction chamber ensure a high degree of cost efficiency. The AM system has been developed for series production, including for the automotive industry, aviation and tooling. The introduction of the new metal printer took place during the 3e Global Partners Summit 2024 in Hangzhou, an event at the headquarters for the company’s international partners.
