Pakistan cricket team’s wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal has completed 900 catches in first-class cricket, he is the first Asian wicket-keeper to achieve this feat.
Wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal crossed this milestone in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match between Central Punjab and Sindh at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
Kamran Akmal took a total of 8 wickets in the match, becoming not only the first Pakistani but also the first Asian wicketkeeper to take 900 wickets in first-class cricket.
The 37-year-old wicketkeeper made 836 catches and 64 stumpings in his first-class career.
Kamran Akmal has made a total of 454 catches in his international career representing the national team in 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is.
In a conversation with Geo News, Kamran Akmal said that his figures are a testimony that his wicket keeping is not over, he wishes to still represent Pakistan.
