Central defender Carlos “Pipo” Vivas scored a great goal in Deportivo Táchira‘s 2-0 victory over Caracas FC, in what was a new edition of the Venezuelan soccer classic, played at the Polideportivo Pueblo Nuevo stadium in San Cristóbal.

Vivas, a native of Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state, took advantage of a rebound after a clearance by the Avilanian defense and took a powerful right-footed shot from the edge of the area to beat rival goalkeeper Wuilker Faríñez in the 71st minute. He even started the play himself which ended in the goal, after driving the ball to the middle of the field and unloading on Roberto Rosales, who took the center that ended in the rebound being taken advantage of.

This commitment was valid for the second day of Quadrangular A of the Futve League. There the Aurinegros and Rayo Zuliano are equal with six points, while the Reds and Zamora FC have no units.

The other goal of the eleven directed by Eduardo Saragó was the work of Daniel Saggiomo in the 16th minute, to the joy of the fans who filled Pueblo Nuevo despite the rain that was present for much of the challenge.

Rayo Zuliano beat Zamora 3-0 in the other match of the day on Tuesday.

The action of Quadrangular A continues on Saturday, November 2 when the Zulian team receives the “carousel aurinegro” at the José Encarnación “pachencho” Romero stadium in Maracaibo. Zamora and Caracas will be measured at the Rafael Agustín Tovar in La Carolina, Barinas state.
