All-in-One iMac 2024: Compact Design, M4 Chip Performance Boost

All-in-One iMac 2024: Compact Design, M4 Chip Performance Boost

All-in-one sestava iMac

The new all-in-one iMac lineup was the first to show itself to the world. It is a system that integrates all important components into the monitor. Nothing changes about that even with the news. Following the example of its predecessor, this year’s iMac relies on a very thin construction. The thickness of the entire machine is unbelievable in person, the machine is only a few millimeters thick at the waist.

Basically, you can’t even tell at a glance that it’s a full-fledged computer – the novelty is thinner than most monitors today. All components are hidden in a 24-inch Retina 4.5K display, which can now be equipped with a special glass with a nanotexture.

The main improvement is the integration of the new M4 chip, which premiered this spring. Pre-orders have already started, sales will start on Friday, November 8. Prices start at CZK 39,990 for the basic configuration with 16GB of operating memory and a 256GB SSD drive.

Artificial intelligence is here

At the same time, Apple released new updates to its operating systems. Their biggest strength is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) Apple Intelligence. This is available to iPhone, iPad and Mac users, specifically as part of the free update to iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with an A17 Pro or M1 chip or later, and Mac with an M1 chip or later.

But the Europeans cannot rejoice. Unfortunately, Apple lived up to its earlier statement and, due to European Union (EU) regulations, will not yet offer its own AI on our continent. “Apple Intelligence features will begin rolling out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU in April next year,” promised representatives of the American technology giant.

Compact Mac mini

After Monday’s premiere of the all-in-one iMac lineup, the American technology giant showed a new generation of the Mac mini on Tuesday. Compared to last year’s model, it has gone through a major diet, it is noticeably more compact.

Last year’s Mac mini had a floor plan of 19.7 x 19.7 cm, but this year’s generation managed to squeeze all the components into a body measuring only 12.7 x 12.7 cm. In one breath, it is appropriate to add that the set has grown slightly in height – from last year’s 3.58 cm to 5 cm, but even so the more compact dimensions of the new product are evident. It is also noticeable when looking at the weight. While the predecessor weighed 1.28 kg, in the case of this year’s model it is only 0.67 kg (for the basic version).

Despite this, Apple promises a significant increase in performance thanks to the integration of M4 chips. “Mac mini with M4 has up to 1.8 times faster CPU and up to 2.2 times faster GPU than the model with M1 chip. M4 Pro is based on the advanced technologies of the M4 chip and scales them for even more demanding tasks and tasks,” Apple representatives presented the news.

Mac mini will be offered in various configurations, the basic one starts at CZK 17,490. For that price, people get an M4 chip, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Pre-orders started right after the premiere on Tuesday, official sales will start on Friday, November 8.

The new heart of computers

The M4 chip made its debut in the spring together with the latest generation of iPad Pros. Now the processor family from Apple has grown with the more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max models. Both novelties will reside in the latest computers with the bitten apple logo.

“Apple chips have put the Mac in unprecedented shape, and with the new M4 Pro and M4 Max, we’re keeping up the pace of innovation,” Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president for hardware technology, did not hide his enthusiasm for the news.

According to him, these are “the fastest CPU cores in the world”, which include “a far more powerful GPU and the fastest Neural Engine ever”. “The chips of the M4 family, with their performance, economy and options, increase the lead as the most advanced series of chips on the market,” added Srouji.

Although we will have to wait for some time for real practical tests that would confirm his words, the parameters of the news are really interesting. All chips are based on second-generation 3-nanometer technology, which increases their performance and economy.

Top MacBook Pros

Probably the most anticipated computer, at least according to user reactions, was the MacBook Pro. Its current generation is available in two different sizes, with a 14-inch and a 16-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. You would look for changes in the design in vain even if you had a magnifying glass in your hand. The appearance of both laptops remained practically the same as their predecessors.

“MacBook Pro is an incredibly powerful tool that millions of people use to do the best work of their lives. And starting today, it’s even better,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware development, during Wednesday’s premiere.

The biggest improvement is the integration of the new M4 series chips. One of the other attractions is the Center Stage camera with a resolution of 12 MPx, which boasts a Table View function. The camera can automatically take up the desktop during video calls, which is useful when you want to show something to your colleagues.

The price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip starts at CZK 49,990. Potential buyers will pay at least CZK 74,990 for a 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is, however, equipped with a more powerful M4 Pro chip. This is the price of the basic configuration. All models are sold in space black and silver. Pre-orders for both new MacBook Pros started already on Wednesday after the premiere, but official sales are not scheduled until Friday, November 8.

Tap to Pay in the Czech Republic

Already in 2022, Apple introduced the new Tap to Pay service with great fanfare, thanks to which the iPhone can easily be turned into a payment terminal. But the handy function was only available in selected destinations. It only changed this week, when representatives of the American technology giant confirmed that Czechs can now also use the gadget.

The Czech Republic is not the only country that has been waiting for the Tap to Pay function to become available. Since Tuesday, in addition to our homeland, this gadget also works in Austria, Ireland, Romania and Sweden, for example.

“It empowers millions of merchants to use the iPhone to seamlessly and securely accept contactless payments. Tap to Pay on iPhone helps businesses of all sizes accept contactless payments with credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets using only iPhone and partner iOS apps,” Apple representatives highlighted.

In practice, this means that merchants will no longer need any terminals or other hardware. They can essentially turn their own phone into a payment terminal, literally with just a few clicks.

Welcome to the Future: Apple Unveils New iMacs and More!

Alright folks, let’s dive into the tantalizing tidbits from the latest Apple event—a collection of hardware updates that could spark joy in even the most stringent PC users. It’s like Christmas came early, but instead of socks and a tie, we’ve got the sleek, new iMac lineup that’s thinner than a supermodel on a juice cleanse!

All-in-One iMac: Thinner Than Your Ex’s Excuses

First up, we’ve got the all-in-one iMac. This beauty is a sight to behold—so thin that if you sneeze too hard, you might just send it flying off your desk! At a mere few millimeters thick at the waist, it’s practically a modern art installation. And guess what? It’s still a full-fledged computer, though you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for just another fancy monitor.

The iMac now flaunts a dazzling 24-inch Retina 4.5K display, with an option for nanotextured glass—perfect for ensuring your fingerprints don’t ruin its aesthetic. It’s like Apple thought, “How can we make sure everyone knows you play games while working? Let’s add a screen that shows every greasy smear!” The M4 chip integration is the cherry on top, promising lightning-speed performance. Pre-orders? They’ve started—sales kick off on November 8, and you can snag one for just CZK 39,990. A low price for high performance; just don’t ask the bank for a loan!

Apple Intelligence: More AI, Less European Enthusiasm

Now, onto the juicy bits of software. Apple recently teased its fancy new AI—Apple Intelligence. It’ll work seamlessly across various devices, but here’s the kicker: if you live in Europe, well, sorry! It’s like being the kid at the birthday party without a slice of cake. Thanks to the long arm of the EU regulations, the ‘AI party’ won’t hit Europe until April next year. So, for now, you can sit there, gazing longingly at your iPhone while daydreaming about AI capabilities that your mates in the States are already enjoying. You know what they say: “The grass is always greener… unless you’re in Europe, and then it’s just a barren wasteland of missed tech.”

Mac Mini: Small But Mighty!

Next on the chopping block is the Mac mini, which has gone through a dramatic weight loss transformation. Remember last year’s model? The one that took up a whole shelf in your cabinet? This year’s Mac mini has trimmed itself down to a compact 12.7 x 12.7 cm. It’s so small that if you left it in a sock drawer, the socks would need a map to find it! But wait, there’s more: despite shedding some serious pounds (we’re talking a weight dip from 1.28 kg to just 0.67 kg!), the Mac mini packs some serious punch with the M4 chip. Think speedy performance combined with a healthy snack! Starting at CZK 17,490, it’s clearly a steal—unless we’re talking about your wallet!

M4 Chip: The New Heart of Your Mac!

The real star of the show might just be the new M4 chip—essentially the engine under the hood that keeps your tech running smoother than Ricky Gervais at an awards show. Apple’s promising the fastest CPU cores on the market, and they’re… well, they’re really going for it! These chips work on the super-modern 3-nanometer technology; it’s so state-of-the-art that your old Intel chip is probably weeping in the corner right now.

MacBook Pro: déjá vu with a Twist!

Finally, let’s talk about the MacBook Pro. You might not notice it at first glance, but trust me—there’s more to it than meets the eye. The design remains basically the same—call it the “classic look.” However, Apple has sneaked in the M4 chips to give it a turbo boost like never before. The 14-inch model starts at CZK 49,990, and the 16-inch? Oh, you’ll pay at least CZK 74,990 to play with that one. It’s like your childhood toy, only now, it’s supercharged with tech that makes you believe you could actually complete all your tasks instead of binge-watching Netflix!

Tap to Pay: The iPhone Goes Wallet-less!

And lastly, but certainly not least, let’s talk about the newly launched “Tap to Pay” feature! Czechs can now turn their iPhones into payment terminals—no awkward card readers necessary. It’s like giving your phone the ability to play banker without the awkward dress code! Just imagine: “Hey, you wanna buy this? Tap your iPhone right here” and voila, the transaction is done! Now you can confidently juggle your coffee and your payments without dropping a single thing—just don’t let the barista overcharge you, or you’ll be feeling like a fool!

Final Thoughts

So there you have it, folks! Apple’s latest line-up might not bring the world to its knees, but it sure gives us plenty to chew on and debate at our next brunch! With stunning designs, improved performance, and some cheeky AI strategies, Apple is undeniably pulling ahead—just don’t expect to see it in Europe quite yet. Stay tuned, because this tech rollercoaster is just getting started!

Unveiling the All-in-One iMac

Apple’s latest introduction, the all-in-one iMac lineup, has made a striking debut, showcasing a sophisticated system that seamlessly integrates all vital components directly into the monitor itself. Staying true to its design ethos, this new model boasts a remarkably thin profile, continuing the legacy of its predecessors. When seen in person, the astonishing slimness of the device is particularly impressive, measuring merely a few millimeters thick at its narrowest point.

Upon first glance, the device may easily be mistaken for a regular monitor, as it is sleeker than most displays available today. All critical components are ingeniously concealed within a stunning 24-inch Retina 4.5K screen, which now offers the option of special nanotextured glass, enhancing its visual appeal and usability.

A significant enhancement in this model lies in the deployment of the cutting-edge M4 chip, which heralded its arrival this past spring. Pre-orders for the new iMac have commenced, with retail sales set to launch on Friday, November 8. The entry-level configuration starts at a competitive price of CZK 39,990, which includes 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for fast storage solutions.

Introducing the Compact Mac mini

Following the exciting announcement of the all-in-one iMac series, Apple further impressed audiences with the unveiling of the next-generation Mac mini on Tuesday. This year’s iteration of the Mac mini has undergone a substantial redesign, resulting in a noticeably more compact form factor compared to the previous model.

Last year’s Mac mini measured 19.7 x 19.7 cm, but the latest model has ingeniously condensed its dimensions to only 12.7 x 12.7 cm. While it has slightly increased in height, from last year’s 3.58 cm to a new height of 5 cm, its overall smaller footprint is unmistakable. Users will also notice a dramatic reduction in weight; the previous version weighed 1.28 kg whereas the new base model tips the scales at just 0.67 kg.

Despite its compact size, Apple promises a dramatic boost in performance with the integration of M4 chips. According to Apple, the Mac mini equipped with M4 boasts a CPU that is up to 1.8 times faster and a GPU that is up to 2.2 times quicker than its M1 chip counterpart. Furthermore, the M4 Pro variant is designed using advanced M4 chip technologies, elevating performance for more intensive tasks and applications, as highlighted by Apple representatives.
