Another distinction brought Vocal to Patras with the participation of the Femmes Vocal Vocal Ensemble of Patras. Detach it Silver Diploma in the Category of, to 5th International Choir Competition and Festival which was organized with great success in Kalamata from 10-13 October 2024 from the Interculture and him Municipality of Kalamata. According to the audience, Femmes Vocal thrilled with their presence, smile, finesse and performance. The whole group lived unique and wonderful moments, both during the preparation of the musical program, and during their stay in Kalamata, in a demanding from all sides, three days.
The distinction is not at all accidental as in recent years the audience has singled out the vocal ensemble Vocal at events in Nafplio, Agrinio, Patras, while it has been awarded a silver medal at the 41st Preveza International Choir Festival and the 2nd prize at the 8th Choir Festival Mikis Theodorakis. Thus, once again the selection of the appropriate repertoire, the excellent choral preparation, the correct technique, the persistence and patient work done in the rehearsals and the character of the ensemble, brought the Silver Diploma at the Kalamata Competition. The efforts of all those involved in the preparation and realization of this Choral achievement were rewarded.
All those who attended the Choir Festival speak in flattering words about the level of the choirs that took part in it. Choral ensembles with a distinct timbre, absolute synchronization, movement and inventiveness. The presence of Femmes Vocal was a pleasant surprise, deservingly representing Patras in the Competition by bringing the Silver Diploma in Class A2 of similar voiceswhich is the most difficult level of similar voices in the Contest. Vocal – Choir teaching and Ensemble Direction was given by the Vocal Teacher and Artistic Director of Vocal, Katerina Polymenakou.In charge of the Mission, leader and supporter of the group was the President of the Vocal Ensemble of Patras George A. Georgopoulos who accompanied the expedition to Kalamata.
On Sunday afternoon, the entire Femmes Vocal team took part in the Festival’s choir parade and received a standing ovation from the audience. It was a celebration in the central square of the city, where residents and visitors participated and became a company with all the choristers from all over the world who filled Kalamata for three days.

**Katerina:** I believe our distinctive sound and the emotional connection we bring to our performances really resonated with people. We chose a repertoire that not only showcased our vocal abilities but also allowed us to express our personalities. The audience’s positive feedback about our presence, smiles, and finesse during the performances reinforces that we connected with them on a deeper level.
**Editor:** Can you tell us about the pieces you performed during the competition?
**Katerina:** Certainly! We performed several pieces, including “The Kiss” by Alkis Baltas and “Northern Lights” by Ola Gleilo, among others. Each piece was carefully selected for its emotional depth as well as its complexity, which put our vocal skills to the test. The variety in styles also allowed us to showcase our versatility as an ensemble.
