“This shows that the airport is getting bigger, our flights are getting better. And besides this being positive, it is also a challenge for us to improve our services at Halim,” said Novri.

Novri added that because the facility infrastructure is still limited, his party will continue to improve services to support passenger comfort while at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

Apart from that, he emphasized that passenger comfort is number one so that passengers are always met in all aspects when they are in the airport area.

“Indeed, our airport (infrastructure and facilities) are quite old, so we will try to make various improvements. Especially those that refer to the customer journey, to the flow of our passengers heading to the plane,” he said.

Then, Novri explained that several parts of the airport that had been repaired were improvements from his party to improve the quality of service at the airport. These include security check point 2.

“So later we will try to make it more comfortable at security check point 2 where the x-ray inspection is located. What used to be narrow, we will make it more spacious so that passenger comfort there will be better,” explained Novri.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, explained that the choice of the three destinations of Surabaya, Medan and Padang was the result of research and input from customers. And Irfan said that it is possible that in the future there will be additional routes from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

“Of course, later we will see the development, the slots, and if possible, we will of course add flights. Maybe also abroad,” said Irfan.

“Actually, we need five or six, yes, but we have to choose three first. And from last night it looks like almost 100 percent are here (departing for Padang), so it turns out it’s true as requested by passengers,” he said in full.

Garuda Indonesia Takes Flight Again: The Return of the Ostrich!

Well, well, well! Look who’s back in the air! As of November 1, Garuda Indonesia has decided to take its fluffy wings and resume flights to and from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport in East Jakarta. You see, folks, aviation in Indonesia is blooming like a tropical flower that’s had just a sip too much of the good stuff. With three hot destinations — Surabaya, Medan, and Padang — it’s like a flighty reunion of sorts. What’s next? Bali? That would be a shocking twist!

The inaugural flight kicked off with a hop over to Surabaya, and it’s hard not to feel a tinge of excitement. The President Director of PT Angkasa Transportindo Selaras (ATS), Novrihandri, greeted everyone with the enthusiasm of a kid at a candy store. “This proves that aviation in Indonesia is increasingly developing!” he said, which just might be the biggest understatement since someone described the Titanic as merely ‘unsinkable’.

The real kicker? Novri wants us to believe that not only is the airport getting bigger and better, but he also mentions a few challenges ahead. “Improving our services,” he says, as though we’re supposed to ignore the fact that some of us have been through security checks that felt like a police interrogation. I mean, if your facilities are older than some of the Instagram models out there, it might be time for a little facelift!

Now, let’s talk about the serious stuff. According to Novri, passenger comfort is paramount. “It’s number one,” he insists, as he waves his hands like a crossing guard making sure we don’t accidentally wander off to 1975, when Halim was apparently last updated! There’s talk of expanding security check point 2 because let’s be honest, squeezing through a narrow corridor while hoping you don’t trip over your luggage? Not exactly a luxury experience! Just imagine a line where your bags are as cramped as your rush-hour bus ride — it’s basically a horror show.

On the other side of the runway, the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, has some juicy plans lined up. Apparently, the choice of destinations came straight from customer feedback. I’m sure the passengers screamed out, “More Padang, please!” like it’s the hottest new restaurant on the block.

And guess what? Irfan hinted at potential extra routes in the future! “We need five or six, yes, but we have to choose three first,” he said. Yes, because it’s important to prioritize which tropical paradise gets sprinkled with the fairy dust of Garuda flights. Maybe they’ll have a ‘pick your destination’ lottery next? Just keep the number of people fighting for Bali low, please!

In conclusion, the return of Garuda Indonesia to Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport is as exciting as finding a 20-dollar bill in your old jeans. It’s filled with promise and a sprinkle of challenge, just like a good sitcom pilot! Here’s hoping they’ll deliver a season of smooth flights and satisfied passengers. So buckle up, everyone—this is going to be one cheeky adventure through the skies!
