The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is encouraging strengthening the role of anti-corruption counselors (PAKSI) in every region in Indonesia. They are believed to be able to make changes to corrupt habits in the country.

“The KPK believes that anti-corruption educators are agents of change who have a strategic role in eradicating corruption,” said KPK Deputy for Education and Community Participation Wawan Wardiana in a written statement, Friday (1/11).

Wawan explained that PAKSI is a group tasked with spreading anti-corruption ideology in the surrounding environment. The KPK calls them ‘masters’.

“Through their dedication, the masters uphold integrity and sincerity, which not only educates, but also inspires anti-corruption values for various levels of society throughout Indonesia,” said Wawan.

The KPK is ready to help PAKSI to hone their skills to spread anti-corruption attitudes. Anti-corruption agencies believe they have an important role in fighting for an Indonesia free from corruption.

“We will continue to be committed to increasing the capacity and competence of PAKSI through optimizing access to training, information and technical support, so that anti-corruption education can be effective,” said Wawan. (J-2)
