The Army Israeli announced this Thursday that it carried out an attack against weapons warehouses and command centers belonging to the Shiite group Hezbollah in Al Quseir, a town in western Syria, close to the border with Lebanon. According to reports from Syrian sources, the attack left at least two dead.
According to Israeli forces, the warehouses attacked were used by the ammunition unit of the Radwan force, the militia’s elite group.
Hezbollah’s ammunition unit is responsible for storing weapons in Lebanon and has recently expanded its activities to the town of Al Quseir, near the Syrian-Lebanese border,” highlights part of the statement issued by the Army.
Hezbollah warehouses in Syria were the target of a new attack
Since it began its military escalation against the Lebanese group more than a month ago, Israel has carried out attacks on several border crossings between Lebanon and Syria, which are used by thousands of people trying to escape the violence. Israel maintains that these points are being used by Hezbollah to transport weapons.
“With the support of the Syrian regime, the terrorist organization Hezbollah endangers the security of Syrian and Lebanese civilians by embedding command centers and forces in civilian areas in both countries,” the Army said on Thursday.
