The secret favorite Nashville is experiencing unrest early in the NHL season. In a 5-1 defeat against the weakened Edmonton Oilers, the Predators lost for the fifth time in their seventh home game. Despite – or perhaps because of – prominent summer signings such as Jonathan Marchessault, Steven Stamkos and Brady Skjei, Nashville has not lived up to the great ambitions with which the team started the National Hockey League almost a month ago.
Five defeats at the start, then three wins, now two defeats again. Against the Oilers, the opponent was also missing superstar Connor McDavid, who will be out injured for the next two or three weeks due to an ankle injury. But German Leon Draisaitl helped tear Nashville apart with two goals and an assist.
“We’re still not playing our game. We want to appear dominant. That doesn’t work. We can’t always say: ‘We haven’t found each other yet, the chemistry in the lines isn’t right yet,'” said Swiss captain Roman Josi. “The season is now 10 games old. We have to play well from now on.” The Predators are in second-to-last place in both the Central Division and the Eastern Conference with seven points.

**Interview with Roman Josi, Captain of the Nashville Predators**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Roman. After a tough 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, how are you and the team feeling about the start of the season?
**Roman Josi:** It’s been a rough patch for us, no doubt. We came into this season with high hopes, especially with the new players we’ve added. However, we haven’t been able to find our rhythm yet, and it’s frustrating for everyone.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned that the team isn’t playing its game. Can you elaborate on what needs to change moving forward?
**Roman Josi:** Absolutely. We want to play with a sense of dominance and control, but we’re not achieving that right now. It’s easy to fall back on excuses about chemistry and time, but we’ve played ten games. We need to step it up and start performing.
**Interviewer:** With the team sitting near the bottom of the Central Division and the Eastern Conference, how do you personally deal with the pressure of expectations versus results?
**Roman Josi:** It’s all about focusing on the process and not getting too caught up in the standings. We know our potential, and if we can start playing the way we know we can, the results will come.
**Interviewer:** Looking ahead, what would you say to fans who are worried about the team’s prospects this season?
**Roman Josi:** I understand their concerns. We’re fans too, and we want to win for them. But I urge them to stay patient. This is a talented team, and we believe we will turn it around soon.
**Interviewer:** As the captain, how do you plan to inspire your teammates to shake off this early unrest?
**Roman Josi:** Leadership is about maintaining confidence and trust within the group. I’ll be communicating openly with everyone and making sure we remain focused on our goals. We have to trust the process.
**Interviewer:** Thank you for your insights, Roman. Lastly, for the fans out there, do you think they should continue to believe in this team, despite the rocky start?
**Roman Josi:** Absolutely! Every season has its ups and downs. Our fans are an important part of what we do, and I encourage them to keep the faith. We have what it takes to succeed, and we will fight to prove it.
**Interviewer:** As we wrap up, how do you think the community can support the team during this challenging time?
**Roman Josi:** Just keep showing up, keep cheering for us. The energy from our fans makes a huge difference, and we need them behind us more than ever.
