Vienna (OTS) –

“ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer must immediately suggest to the Federal President that Federal Minister Kogler be dismissed,” demanded FPÖ General Secretary NAbg. Christian Hafenecker, MA. The reason for this are statements and the worst insults made by Kogler at his joint press conference with the managing Green Party leader Maurer against the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who was greeted yesterday by National Council President Dr. Walter Rosenkranz was received in Parliament. Kogler had, among other things, insulted Orbán as an “anti-democrat,” “destroyer of Europe” and “Hungarian despot” and insulted neighboring Hungary as a “well-organized kleptocracy.”

“Kogler’s hate-fueled, ideology-dripping and completely out of thin air hate tirades are the culmination of the mud-bucket campaign that has been staged in some media editorial offices for days against the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán by the left and their willing helpers. Hungary is a friendly neighboring country that currently holds the EU Council Presidency and with which our Austria has a long shared history and cultural tradition. The meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and National Council President Dr. Walter Rosenkranz therefore made an important contribution to maintaining these good relationships. As Federal Minister of the Republic of Austria, which Kogler unfortunately still is after being entrusted with the continuation of official business by the Federal President, he cannot be tolerated for another day after his current verbal injuries. With this affront he has caused the greatest damage to Austria’s prestige and reputation!” said Hafenecker, who, in addition to Nehammer’s proposal for Kogler’s dismissal, also expects Federal President Van der Bellen to comply with this.

SPÖ chairman Babler, whom ÖVP boss Nehammer wants to make a pillar of his “Austro-loser traffic light”, has also shown with his “unnecessary insults” that he is “completely unsuitable” for government office. “When Babler uses the word ‘autocrat’, he should first read up on what makes him such an autocrat. Maybe just a look at his bookshelf is enough, where, according to media reports, at least a few years ago he had put up a bust of Lenin – he was actually an autocrat, even one of the most evil and bloodthirsty of the last century!” Hafenecker also appeared “irritated.” about the fact that the Second President of the National Council, Haubner, complained that he had to find out about the Hungarian Prime Minister’s visit from the media. “I cannot remember that Wolfgang Sobotka, as President of the National Council, coordinated his invitation and reception diplomacy with anyone, quite the opposite. As is well known, in the last days of his term in office he even purchased two sculptures for 240,000 euros – without any coordination with the Presidential Conference,” explained the FPÖ General Secretary.

Hafenecker reminded once again that in 2022 the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán was one of the first meetings with another head of government under ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer, in 2021 National Council President Sobotka traveled to Budapest for a visit and even SPÖ Chancellor Kern paid Orbán an inaugural visit in 2016 : “Never has the left hyperventilated with foam at the mouth as much as it does now, in none of these In some cases, club leaders of parliamentary parties have allowed themselves to be carried away with insulting press conferences or have indulged in political change with grotesque letters. These facts show the blatant hypocrisy displayed by left-wing political forces because they are apparently reacting to the increasing loss of voters not with self-reflection on their anti-citizen policies, but with ever-increasing self-radicalization!”

**Interview with FPÖ General Secretary Christian Hafenecker on ‍Kogler’s Comments about Viktor Orbán**

**Interviewer:**⁢ Thank you for ‍joining us today, Mr. Hafenecker. You’ve recently called for the dismissal of⁣ Federal Minister Kogler following his remarks about Hungarian Prime⁣ Minister Viktor Orbán. Can you elaborate on why you feel‍ this action is necessary?

**Christian Hafenecker:** Absolutely. Kogler’s comments during his press conference were not ⁤only⁢ disrespectful but also damaging to Austria’s‌ standing. Referring to Orbán as an “anti-democrat” and a “Hungarian despot” is completely unacceptable, especially when Hungary ‌is our neighbor and an important EU partner. Such expressions of hostility undermine ⁣the positive relations we’ve historically enjoyed.

**Interviewer:** You mentioned that Kogler’s insults are part of a larger “mud-bucket campaign.” Can you explain what you mean by ⁣that?

**Christian⁤ Hafenecker:** Certainly. ‌There’s been a concerted effort⁤ from certain media and political factions to undermine⁣ the legitimacy of Orbán’s visit and‍ cast Hungary in a negative light. Kogler’s rhetoric contributes to ‍this divisive narrative⁣ and detracts from the real issues at hand, which should involve fostering cooperation and dialogue between our nations.

**Interviewer:** You also criticized SPÖ⁣ Chairman Babler for his remarks. What specifically do you find troubling about his use of the term “autocrat”?

**Christian Hafenecker:** Babler’s ‌accusation of Orbán being an ‍autocrat is hypocritical—he himself should reflect on his own political history. Referring to past leaders like Lenin, who exemplified autocratic rule, underscores a⁢ serious double standard. It seems he is quick to label others without ‍acknowledging his own party’s historical baggage.

**Interviewer:**⁣ If ⁢Chancellor ⁤Nehammer and President Van der Bellen do not act on ‌your demands, what⁢ do you believe will happen ⁢next?

**Christian Hafenecker:** ⁤If they ignore the necessity of holding Kogler accountable, it sends a dangerous message—that such incendiary language is acceptable in our political ⁢discourse. This could further erode⁣ public trust⁤ in government⁢ institutions‌ and affect our international relations. I hope they choose to uphold⁢ Austria’s ‌dignity by taking appropriate action.

**Interviewer:** Thank you for your⁤ insights, Mr. Hafenecker. We appreciate you taking the time to discuss this important issue.

**Christian Hafenecker:** Thank you for ‌having me.⁤ It’s crucial that we engage ⁣in constructive dialogue for the future of⁢ our country.
