Lahore High Court announced the good news to cricketer Sharjeel Khan who was convicted in sports fixing.
The Lahore High Court has issued orders to remove the name of cricketer Sharjeel Khan from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Sharjeel Khan was sentenced to a 5-year ban for spot-fixing during the second season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In August 2017, the Pakistan Cricket Board banned cricketer Sharjeel Khan, who was involved in the spot-fixing scandal, from participating in any cricket-related activities for five years. Sharjeel Khan was to serve two-and-a-half years of the five-year suspended sentence, which ended on August 10.
After the punishment, PCB has also allowed Sharjeel Khan to play domestic cricket on completion of rehab, while the board says that Sharjeel Khan’s name will also be included in the PSL draft but it will be on the franchises. Depends on whether they choose them or not.
After the completion of the said sentence, cricketer Sharjeel Khan, through his lawyer Sheghan Ejaz, filed an application in the Lahore High Court in which it was requested that since there is no inquiry pending against him, his name should be changed to E.C. Be removed from the L.
Cricketer Sharjeel Khan’s lawyer Sheghan Ejaz said that the name of Nasir Jamshed, who was involved in the case before Sharjeel Khan, has also been removed from the ECL. The court ordered to remove the name of the cricketer Sharjeel Khan, who was convicted in the PSL 2 spot-fixing case, from the ECL within 7 days.
29-year-old Sharjeel Khan has represented Pakistan in one Test, 25 ODIs and 15 T20I matches. There was an agreement to play a T20 match.
Interestingly, when Leicestershire signed Sharjeel Khan in September 2016, the chief executive of the county at that time was Wasim Khan, who is now the chief executive officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
