ALGIERS – The recommendations sanctioning the work of the Study Days devoted to the development prospects of the National Passenger Maritime Transport Company (ENTMV) were presented, Wednesday, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Mohamed El Habib Zahana, and senior executives of the company.
The recommendations were presented at the end of the work of these Study Days, organized on board the ship Badji Mokhtar III at the Port of Algiers, with the participation of company executives and experts in the field, who discussed through five workshops, lasting two days, on the organization and management of the company, human resources (training and recruitment), technical maintenance of units and future acquisitions, commercial policy and improvement services, and the digitization and security of the company’s IT systems.
The participants therefore recommended reviewing the regulatory aspect of the company to adapt it to what is done at the level of large maritime transport companies in the world, to provide the company with a headquarters that meets its requirements. and to update the procedures relating to public contracts concluded by the company.
They also recommended the creation of a body dedicated to human resources, to ensure the training and development of the company’s workers and to recruit young officers with contracts allowing them to pursue their professional career within the company. ‘business.
Among the other points highlighted in the recommendations, the imperative to bring all ships into compliance with the standards in force, the guarantee of specialized training for the benefit of officers, the definition of the missions assigned to repair and maintenance workshops. manufacturing within the company and the establishment of a policy for the renewal of the company’s fleet.
The recommendations also focused on the need to bring the company’s counters and agencies closer to customers, both domestically and abroad, to disseminate all commercial and service information on a large scale to inform customers , to improve the services (catering, internet, entertainment) offered to customers on board ships, to set up an electronic payment system, and to reorganize the department responsible for IT systems.
Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Transport recalled the strong desire of the country’s high authorities to develop the maritime transport system so that the national fleet regains its place at the international level, calling for work towards this objective.
He also called for investing in young human resources to promote the company, anchoring the value of the company in its staff and developing practical skills within it in order to guarantee quality service.
Mr. Zahana also insisted on the need for company executives to demonstrate patriotism and responsibility, to preserve the company’s achievements and to work to develop its capabilities in all its areas of activity. activity.
