Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Member of National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has revealed that the number of defecting MNAs of PTI during the 26th constitutional amendment is 21.
Speaking in Aaj News program “Spotlight”, Sher Afzal Marwat said that there are no differences in my party.
He said that we protested from May 9 to April 11. After April 11, I was separated from the responsibilities of the protest. Ali Amin Gandapur did five protests. Not seen together, they brought seventy eighty thousand people to D Chowk, it was their great success.
Sher Afzal Marwat said that there should have been a Plan B, when there was a raid on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, there would have been a Plan B, if there had been an alternative leadership, then they should have taken over the protest, the arrival of 780,000 people and killing them. The arrest was unsuccessful.
He said that even if 15, 20 MNAs had come, the whole of Pakistan would have come. I suggested that you keep Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as backup.
Sher Afzal Marwat said that the list of our 11 defectors came out during the approval of the constitutional amendment, that night we had a horrible revelation that there were six or seven more people who were in contact with the government.
He said that the bargaining of the government alliance with Maulana Fazlur Rehman was going on till the last minute and he was afraid that if it failed at some stage, then these 12 defecting members would have been brought forward. If Maulana Fazlur Rahman did not agree, these 21 members of ours would have been exposed.
He said that all the evidence goes against these deviant members, the party had decided to shift all the MNAs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and forbade those who were abroad not to come. I sat down, those who were in KP sneaked out and came to them, they have no explanation why you left.
He said that the deal of defecting members was neither done by the people of the People’s Party nor by the people of Nun, they tried to get access to almost every MNA, two billion rupees were offered and given. Four of them did not give their vote per sabil Allah.
In response to a question, he said that Khan would never want his wife, sisters or family members to lead a protest. At that time, he also bluntly said that no member of my family will become a candidate in the party election.
On the non-challenge clause in the twenty-sixth constitutional amendment, he said that if a two-thirds majority approves that impotence injections will be given to men in Pakistan, will it not be challenged?
He said that Imran Khan’s legal team has now become limited, most of the cases are with Barrister Ali Zafar and Salman Safdar, in some cases Salman Akram Raja is looking.

**Interview with Sher Afzal Marwat: Insights on PTI and Recent Constitutional Changes**
**Interviewer**: Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Marwat. You recently revealed that 21 MNAs defected from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during the 26th constitutional amendment. Can you elaborate on the circumstances surrounding these defections?
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: Thank you for having me. Yes, during the discussions surrounding the 26th constitutional amendment, we indeed saw 21 MNAs choosing to defect. This was a significant moment for our party as it highlighted the shifting political landscape. However, I want to clarify that there are no deep-rooted differences within PTI. We remain united in our vision.
**Interviewer**: You mentioned earlier protests from May 9 to April 11. Can you tell us more about your role and the dynamics of those protests?
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: My involvement in the protests ended after April 11, but it was a period of intense mobilization for our party. Especially noteworthy were the efforts of Ali Amin Gandapur, who managed to rally enormous crowds, bringing around seventy to eighty thousand people to D Chowk. That level of engagement was a testament to our supporters’ dedication.
**Interviewer**: There seemed to be a significant challenge during the protests, especially during the raid on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House. What are your thoughts on the need for contingency plans during such events?
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: Absolutely, I believe that having a Plan B is crucial. The unexpected raid on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House caught many off guard. If there had been alternative leadership ready to step in, we might have managed the situation better. A seamless transition of leadership could have ensured the sustained momentum of our protests.
**Interviewer**: Do you feel that the presence of a few key leaders would have changed the outcome of those protests?
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: Without a doubt. Even if just 15 or 20 MNAs had actively participated, I strongly believe that the entire nation would have rallied behind us. That’s why I suggested that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur be kept as a backup during those critical times.
**Interviewer**: Your statement about the defectors and the list of 11 who surfaced during the constitutional amendment meeting is intriguing. What does this mean for the future of PTI?
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: The emergence of that list during a pivotal moment like the constitutional amendment reveals the challenges we face. Nevertheless, we are focused on solidifying our base and moving forward without letting this deter us. Our message remains strong, and we are determined to engage our supporters for the greater good.
**Interviewer**: Thank you, Mr. Marwat, for sharing your insights. It will be interesting to see how PTI navigates these challenges moving forward.
**Sher Afzal Marwat**: Thank you for having me. We appreciate the opportunity to communicate our stance and engage with the public.
