Leaders of the Revolutionary Alternative hold CNE rectors responsible for possible military action against Venezuela

That an investigation be opened against the rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to determine the administrative, civil and criminal responsibilities that may arise, for not having published the minutes of the electoral results of last July 28, requested This Wednesday, October 30, the former deputy of the Legislative Council of the state of Táchira (Clet) and member of the Popular Revolutionary Alternative PPT-APR, Juan Carlos Guevara, who considers that this omission puts Venezuela at risk of being intervened militarily.

Outside the headquarters of the Public Ministry in San Cristóbal, Guevara recalled that article 155 of the Organic Law of Electoral Procedure requires the publication of the electoral results within 30 days after the proclamation; but 94 days have passed and no results have been published. He also reported that they did not receive the formal complaint.

He indicated that ruling No. 31 of August 22, 2024 of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), also requires the rectors to publish the results, based on article 155 of the Electoral Law. “We are talking about the same sentence that ratifies the victory of Nicolás Maduro, even ratified by the Constitutional Chamber; However, these gentlemen have not published anything, that is, they have fallen into the crime of contempt of authority, of the highest court of the Republic and that must be pursued by the actions of the Public Ministry, and so far they have not done so. done,” he said.

Guevara highlighted that not presenting the minutes has generated a threat to the security of the nation, when through the web portal “Almost Venezuela” an action to intervene militarily in the country would be being promoted, considering that the proclamation of the elections of July 28 was fraudulent.

Complaint that was presented and not accepted before the Public Ministry in San Cristóbal.

“And this CNE does nothing… The Attorney General of the Republic must fulfill his duties. He must investigate informally. It is not necessary to ask them, but well, today we are asking them and we were unpleasantly surprised that they did not accept our complaint, violating our right to constitutional petition, violating our access to justice, to effective judicial protection. Well, what’s going on here? In such a way that publicly, through the media, we are telling the Attorney General of the Republic to begin the pretrial process of merit for the rectors of the CNE, because they have not published their electoral results, as required by the article 155 of the Electoral Gazette,” he added.

The representative of the Popular Revolutionary Alternative indicated that although the complaint was not accepted under the argument that it had to be formalized in Caracas, the same request will be made in several states of the country and before the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic.

He assured that this is not the first time that the Attorney General ignores a fact that would put Venezuela at risk, the first being, according to his point of view, the proclamation of Juan Guaidó as interim president.

“He is directly co-responsible for not acting as required by the Constitution and persecuting Juan Guaidó’s illegal actions ex officio, and submitting him to authority from the same day he was self-proclaimed. If he had fulfilled his duty, this Prosecutor, what happened to Juan Guaidó would not have happened. In such a way that we do not want the same movie to be committed. We are telling you to act before Venezuela is attacked militarily,” warned deputy Juan Carlos Guevara.

**Interview with Juan Carlos⁢ Guevara: Former Deputy and Member of the ‍Popular‌ Revolutionary Alternative**

**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Juan‍ Carlos. You recently ‌called for an investigation into the National Electoral Council regarding the lack of published electoral results from the July ⁢28 elections. Can you ‍explain why⁢ this is⁢ so crucial?

**Juan ⁤Carlos Guevara:** Thank you for having me. ⁤It is essential for transparency and the legitimacy of our electoral process. The Organic Law of Electoral Procedure, specifically article 155, ‌mandates the publication of results within 30‌ days after elections, yet it has been 94 days without any accountability ⁢from the CNE. This‌ omission raises serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process and the risk of military intervention in Venezuela.

**Interviewer:** You also mentioned a ruling from the Supreme Court that reinforces the CNE’s⁢ obligation to publish these results. Can you elaborate on that?

**Juan ⁢Carlos ⁤Guevara:** Yes, ‍ruling No. 31 from August 22, 2024, explicitly requires the electoral authorities to publish the results. This⁣ ruling⁣ confirms Nicolás Maduro’s victory, but the‌ failure to comply suggests a blatant disregard⁢ for legal authority. This not only undermines our democratic processes but also ‍places the nation in a precarious ‌position.

**Interviewer:** You expressed concern that the situation could lead to external intervention. Can you provide‌ more context on why you ‌believe this?

**Juan Carlos Guevara:** The lack of transparency is alarming. There is discourse circulating through platforms such‌ as “Almost Venezuela,” promoting military action based ⁢on allegations of electoral fraud. By not addressing the complaints and failing to release ⁢the electoral data, we are creating an environment where foreign intervention might be seen as a solution to our internal‌ crisis.

**Interviewer:** What‍ actions do you believe should be taken by‍ the⁣ Attorney General and the Public Ministry?

**Juan Carlos Guevara:** The Attorney General must take initiative and conduct an ⁣investigation without waiting for formal complaints to be filed. The law is clear, and we expect them to uphold it. It’s⁢ their duty to protect the integrity of our institutions and ensure accountability.

**Interviewer:** what message would ⁢you like to convey to the Venezuelan ⁣people regarding this situation?

**Juan Carlos Guevara:** I urge‌ the citizens to remain vigilant and demand⁢ transparency. We ⁢must hold⁤ our leaders accountable and ensure that our democratic processes ‌are respected. The future ‌of Venezuela depends on our ⁢collective action to uphold justice and integrity in governance. Thank⁣ you.
