Arsenal trainer Mikel Arteta confirmed that the knee injury suffered by central defender Gabriel Magalhaes was not serious.

Gabriel suffered the injury when Arsenal drew 2-2 against Liverpool in the English Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (27/10). At that time, Gabriel could not finish the match so he was replaced by Jakub Kiwior in the 54th minute.

“We’re still assessing him, it doesn’t look bad at all. He’s much better than expected, so hopefully he’s OK,” said
Arteta in a press conference before the League Cup round of 16 match against Preston North End at Deepdale Stadium.

Arteta also provided the latest news on Jurrien Timber, who was also unable to finish the match against Arne Slot’s men so he was replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly in the 76th minute.

“Jurrien is fine. He is very tired, he was out for a while and couldn’t continue playing but there are no new injuries there,” explained Arteta.

The Spanish coach also said that two other injured players, Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Odegaard, would still be out for several weeks.

“I think he will be out for a few weeks,” explained Arteta of Calafiori’s injury.

“He has been on the pitch for a few weeks, but there are still some things to sort out,” he added of Odegaard. (Ant/Z-1)

**Interview with Sports Analyst Jane Doe on Gabriel’s ⁢Injury Update**

**Editor:**⁢ Today, we’re joined by sports analyst Jane Doe to discuss the‍ recent news regarding Arsenal defender Gabriel. ⁢The club’s manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed‌ that Gabriel’s knee injury is not‍ severe. Jane, thanks for being here.

**Jane‌ Doe:** Thank ⁢you for having‍ me. It’s always a pleasure to discuss the latest‍ in⁤ football, especially with a⁣ club ‍as ⁤influential as Arsenal.

**Editor:** Mikel‍ Arteta’s confirmation is⁤ certainly reassuring for Arsenal fans. Can you elaborate on why this news is particularly‍ significant at this ⁣point in the season?

**Jane Doe:** Absolutely. ⁢Gabriel has been a critical ⁤component of ‌Arsenal’s defense this season. With‌ the busy schedule ahead, any⁢ injury concerns can heighten the‌ anxiety of fans ‌and affect team performance. Knowing that⁤ it’s not severe allows Arteta to plan better for upcoming matches ⁢without ⁢the added pressure of ⁣a long-term‍ absence.

**Editor:** What might this mean for Arsenal’s defensive strategy moving forward?

**Jane Doe:** If Gabriel’s injury is‌ mild,⁢ we can expect him to return⁤ to⁤ the pitch ‌relatively‌ soon.⁣ This‍ means Arsenal can maintain their defensive cohesion, which is vital⁣ as they contend for top positions ‍in the league. However, if there’s any ‌lingering discomfort, ‍Arteta might opt to rotate players ⁤to ensure⁣ they don’t ⁣take unnecessary risks.

**Editor:** You mentioned rotation. Given the depth of the squad, how ‍should ‌Arteta manage this situation to minimize risk?

**Jane Doe:** It’s crucial for Arteta⁣ to be strategic. He should assess the‍ fitness of alternatives in the squad and perhaps integrate‌ them during less⁤ critical matches. This will help keep his key players fresh while ⁤also giving opportunities to those waiting in ⁣the wings, which is especially important in a⁤ congested fixture period.

**Editor:** Great insights, Jane. Lastly, how do you think the team⁤ spirit might hold‌ up⁣ as they navigate these‍ injury concerns?

**Jane Doe:** Team spirit⁢ is vital ‌in these moments. If the squad feels ⁤they have ‍depth⁣ and can handle ‍injuries without losing momentum, that builds confidence. Players rally around each other, and with positive updates like ⁢this one about Gabriel, it surely helps in maintaining a strong locker room atmosphere.

**Editor:** Thank⁣ you, ⁣Jane, for your thoughtful analysis. We appreciate your time!

**Jane Doe:** Thank you ‍for having me! ⁤I’m looking ‍forward to seeing⁤ how Arsenal progresses this⁢ season.
