What you will do

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be responsible for the co-development and execution of the advocacy strategy, meticulously defining, standardizing, and implementing efficient processes to engage patients, caregivers, and communities, while ensuring team members are aligned with our overarching goals.

  • Establish and continuously strengthen advocacy and partnering relationships with national and community organizations through strategic engagement and aligning with the company’s priorities to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Collaborate closely with government affairs leadership and the access team to implement a comprehensive patient journey that aligns with the fundamental pillars of our organization.

  • Collaborate with external partners to drive significant strategic collaborations among healthcare team members, raising awareness and expanding understanding of rare diseases to foster better patient outcomes.

  • Establish strategic relationships; develop and implement advocacy and alliance plans on national, regional, and local levels to support sustained impact. Establish and execute programs that align intricately with Amgen’s Patient Value Strategy.

  • See opportunities and tailor comprehensive solutions for both internal and external projects within a therapeutic area or across multiple brands, optimizing patient outcomes through collaborative coalitions.

  • Ensure compliant and transparent engagement among team members, embodying company principles to reflect our dedication to patients and caregivers in all actions.

  • Mitigate risks by supervising key issues and trends while developing proactive strategies to protect and enhance the company’s reputation within the healthcare landscape.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all utilize our unique strengths to better serve patients. The professional we seek possesses these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree along with 8 years of experience in the healthcare industry focused on value & access roles.

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience within the healthcare sector, particularly in value & access positions.

  • High school diploma or GED with 12 years of extensive experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in value & access. In addition to the above educational qualifications, candidates must have at least 2 years’ experience in a managerial role, demonstrating effective leadership over teams, projects, or resource allocation.

  • Proficiency in English, showcasing strong written and verbal communication capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Documented experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, with a focus on patient advocacy, government relations, R&D, marketing, market access, or comparable experience within patient, consumer, or professional associations.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functionally across diverse teams.

  • Skillful in managing sophisticated individualized cases effectively.

  • High-level strategic project management and presentation skills are essential.

  • National travel availability is required to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.

  • Exceptional communication, listening, and insight abilities are necessary.
