On Friday last week, an error was discovered in the Health platform which has led to Helse Møre og Romsdal not having a sufficient overview of a group of 291 patients.
Due to the error with the internal referrals in the hospitals, several of these patients have not been put on waiting lists for further follow-up, the Health Platform writes in a press release.
Acting CEO Siri Berg apologizes for the mistake. The mapping work related to each individual patient is underway, and the monitoring system was improved to catch any new errors on the same day.
Contact those affected
– Measures have been taken to prevent a similar error from occurring in Helse nord-Trøndelag, which will put the Health Platform into use on 9 November this year, they write.
Implementation manager Henrik Erdal at Helse Møre og Romsdal also apologizes that the error has affected patients who are waiting for follow-up with them. He adds that it is too early to say whether the error will have negative consequences for each individual patient. The health authority must contact those affected on an ongoing basis.
The state administrator has been notified of the deviation.
Ask the Minister of Health to intervene
Last week, the scandal-ridden record system Helseplattformen received strong criticism from the National Audit Office for putting patient safety at risk in Central Norway. FRP leader Sylvi Listhaug says the ink didn’t even have time to dry before the new error appeared.
– The worst thing about the error is that similar errors with patients who have disappeared from waiting lists have been uncovered in the past. Then you have to ask the question how patients can trust the record system, says Listhaug.
She says the government and the Conservative Party must consider the FRP’s proposal to stop further rollout and consider alternative solutions.
– It is time to realize that it is not the introduction that is the problem, but the Health Platform itself. Now the Minister of Health must intervene, and order Helse Midt Norge to consider other alternative solutions, says the Frp leader.

**Interview with Siri Berg, Acting CEO of Helse Møre og Romsdal**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us, Siri. Can you start by explaining the nature of the error that occurred in the Health platform?
**Siri Berg:** Absolutely. Last Friday, we discovered a significant error in our Health platform that has affected our internal referral system. This oversight means that we lost track of 291 patients who should have been placed on waiting lists for follow-up care. It’s an unfortunate situation that we take very seriously.
**Editor:** What are the potential implications for these patients who are not on the waiting lists?
**Siri Berg:** The primary concern is that these patients may not receive the necessary follow-up care in a timely manner, which could impact their health outcomes. We understand that this delay is distressing not only for the patients but also for their families and the healthcare providers involved.
**Editor:** What steps are you taking to rectify this situation?
**Siri Berg:** We are currently conducting a thorough mapping process for each of the affected patients. Our goal is to ensure that everyone is accounted for and receives the necessary follow-up as quickly as possible. We are also reviewing our internal systems to prevent this type of error from happening again in the future.
**Editor:** In your press release, you apologized for the mistake. How do you plan to rebuild trust with the community after this incident?
**Siri Berg:** Acknowledging the error is the first step toward regaining trust. We are committed to transparency and will keep the community updated as we rectify the situation. Additionally, we will implement more rigorous checks and balances to enhance our system’s reliability.
**Editor:** Thank you for your time, Siri. We hope to see swift action taken for the patients affected.
**Siri Berg:** Thank you for having me. We appreciate the support from the community as we work to resolve this issue.
