Asunción, IP Agency.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, verified works on the Curuguaty ring road, one of the most important road projects in the department of Canindeyú. On the occasion, the Minister of Public Works, Claudia Centurión, presented the technical details of the work.
The construction of this important road, which currently exceeds 60% completion, extends for more than 7 kilometers connecting route PY03 to its junction with route PY13 in the double avenue sector, represents an investment of G. 39,533. 343,034.
The works are being carried out by the company Isacio Vallejos SA (Civsa), under the supervision of CIA SA, reported the MOPC.
“It is going to be a ring road that begins on route PY13, reaches route PY03, very important, in addition to organizing an entire system that comes from the north with our future Route of Sovereignty, so we are very happy with the progress that we are having and we came to show the President of the Republic,” said Minister Claudia Centurión from the scene.
The initiative seeks to decongest traffic in the central sector of Curuguaty, a city that has more than 76,000 inhabitants and stands out for its diverse economic activity.
The new ring road will also facilitate access to nearby districts such as Ypejhú, Villa Ygatimí, Nueva Durango and Maracaná, significantly improving regional connectivity.
A highly productive area
Curuguaty, with an area of 3,650 km², is an important agricultural center in the country, where products such as sunflower, wheat, sesame, stevia, cotton and soybeans are grown. The city is also notable for its livestock production, mainly cattle and goats, as well as logging and the yerba mate industry.
The construction of this ring road is part of the project identified as International Public Tender No. 98/2021, ID No. 402,398.
This work represents a significant step in the modernization of the road infrastructure of the department of Canindeyú and reflects the government’s commitment to the development of the communities in the interior of the country.
