“We owe to those who came, passed, will come, will pass. Happy Birthday Greece”, the pilot of the F-16 of the “ZEUS” team, Sergeant Major George Sotiriou, said in his message during the great military parade for October 28 in Thessaloniki, causing emotion in the country, conversing, as usual, with the President of Democracy Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The words of Sminagos Sotiri come from a poem by Kostis Palamas entitled “Opinions, hearts, those Greeks”.
“Through history, in every part of our homeland, on land, sky and sea, the Greek people honor and trust you. Happy birthday” said the president of the Republic for her part.
The dialogue between Sminagos and Sakellaropoulou
SMINAGOS (I) GEORGIOS SOTIRIOU:
Good morning Thessaloniki, good morning Greece! We owe to those who came, passed, will come, will pass. Let us honor the sacrifices of the past with unity and devotion to the Motherland looking forward to a bright future.
Happy birthday Greece!
KATERINA SAKELLAROPOULOU:Mr Sminage,
Today we honor the heroes who sacrificed themselves for our freedom, as well as our Armed Forces who face history every day, in every corner of our country on land, sky and sea. The Greek people respect and trust you.
Happy Birthday!
The pilot who tore up the airwaves
