And with “a little” experimentation, just after overclocking, enthusiasts managed to achieve more than impressive results in some benchmark tests, not to mention a relatively comfortable launch of the Dolphin GameCube emulator.

The results of a recent test that the owner of a YouTube channel named naga embarked on a few days ago speak for themselves. The extreme stress test was carried out in the environment of the Linux-based operating system called L4T Ubuntu, and it should be noted that, judging by the results, the Tegra X1 chipset from Nvidia reached a completely different level in terms of performance.

The overclocked Tegra achieved impressive results in tests such as Membench, Cuda95 and Geekbench 6. The chipset also coped surprisingly well with the Dolphin GameCube/Wii emulator – it practically did not stifle at all when running the Mario Kart Wii game at 1080p resolution, while the number of frames per second was mostly hovered around 60, albeit with occasional dips and jams.

Zelda and 2K?

Thanks to several other tests, we were already able to see for ourselves in the past months what the overclocked Nintendo Switch can actually do. One of the earlier experiments, for example, showed how the – by today’s point of view already technologically superior – console can cope with the game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at more than 60 FPS in native resolution, and even at 30 FPS at 1440p resolution.
