Obramax, a prominent wholesaler of building materials in Brazil, has recently announced an exciting expansion of its partnership with RELEX Solutions, a leader in providing unified supply chain and retail planning solutions. As a distinguished member of the Adeo group, which ranks as the world’s third-largest building materials retailer, Obramax operates under the banner of the top retail entity in both Europe and Brazil. Since September 2023, RELEX has successfully supported Obramax’s operations across its six retail stores, and the partnership is now set to extend its crucial support to the newly established distribution center (DC).
This strategic expansion is set to integrate cutting-edge DC replenishment capabilities, which encompass advanced forecasting techniques and comprehensive supply chain optimization, all courtesy of RELEX. By deploying sophisticated forecasting methodologies, Obramax aims to enhance its ability to precisely predict customer demand, thereby optimizing replenishment processes. This initiative is essential for ensuring that products are readily available at the correct locations and times to meet consumer needs. Furthermore, the integration of a Digital Twin model will facilitate the management and optimization of the entire supply chain, spanning from the DC directly to the retail stores, thereby significantly boosting overall operational efficiency and minimizing reliance on manual planning efforts.
This enhancement is designed to propel efficiency as Obramax incorporates additional inbound flows into its supply chain network. Starting in April 2025, a portion of their product offerings will be directed to the distribution center prior to being dispatched to individual stores. In this new model, RELEX will empower Obramax with seamless management of both store and distribution center inventory systems, guaranteeing that timely distribution occurs to each retail outlet in accordance with demand and other pivotal factors. This integrated approach is set to not only optimize inventory levels but also significantly reduce occurrences of stock-outs, thereby amplifying overall operational efficacy.
“RELEX has been instrumental in our journey so far, and we anticipate that expanding our use of their capabilities will undoubtedly accelerate our growth,” stated Henrique Ruas Vieira de Paiva, the Supply Chain Director at Obramax. “The seamless integration and robust functionality of the RELEX platform align perfectly with our strategy to enhance our distribution model and better serve our customers.”
“We are delighted with the successful partnership we have with Obramax,” remarked Carlos Victoria, Senior Vice President for the Americas at RELEX Solutions. “Their trust in our platform’s capabilities and the positive impact we’ve already seen underscores the value of our solutions in driving operational excellence and growth for our customers. We look forward to supporting Obramax as they embark on this exciting new phase of their supply chain transformation.”
Logic Information Systems Inc., a key partner of RELEX, will be responsible for implementing the solution at the new distribution center.
The project is scheduled to commence in November 2024, with an anticipated completion date in February 2025. This initiative marks a significant milestone in Obramax’s continuous endeavors to optimize their supply chain operations and elevate service delivery across Brazil.
