At first he ran away. Now the 27-year-old is accused of the knife drama at Jomfru Ane Gade

A brief exchange of views.

A fight.

And then what suddenly made the matter more serious: A knife. More plugs.

In short, this is the process that the police investigation so far points to, which preceded a stabbing very close to Jomfru Ane Gade on Thursday afternoon last week.

On Wednesday, a 27-year-old man was produced in a constitutional hearing at the Court in Aalborg, where he was charged with serious violence.

The constitutional hearing took place behind closed doors.

Wanted by name and photo

There was a very good reason for the fact that a short week had to pass before the suspected perpetrator could be produced in a constitutional hearing: the police could not find him.

The stabbing took place at the restaurant Kababistan Barbeque on Bispensgade between Vesterbro and Vesterå. Here, according to the police, the 27-year-old pulled a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old several times, so that he suffered injuries to his right hand and right flank.

The accused then left the place in the direction of the harbour.

North Jutland Police quickly launched an intense hunt for the man, and on Friday they chose to look for him and share his name and picture.

“Showdown in the criminal environment”

Still, it was until Tuesday evening before he turned himself in. He was arrested around 10 p.m.

The police have not yet announced anything about the motive, but it is probably not a coincidence.

– It is important to emphasize that this is a showdown in the criminal environment, where the parties apparently already know each other, said Police Commissioner Kenneth Rodam, who is in charge of the investigation, immediately after the stabbing.

The 27-year-old pleads not guilty.
