The Entente Sportive Molsheim Ernolsheim won the third edition of the Sensationnelles Prize, an award recognizing amateur clubs committed to the development of women’s football. Among the prizes gleaned, a one-week internship at the National Football Center in Clairefontaine (Yvelines), during which Madeleine Malonga and Laure Boulleau, godmothers of Sensationnelles, spoke this Monday.
Have your meal at the Blues table, on Kylian Mbappé’s seat? It’s done for the young players from L’Entente Sportive Molsheim Ernolsheim, installed at the headquarters of the French Football Teams for a week. The Alsace District club (Grand Est League) was rewarded for its “Révèle-toi” system, which aims to better integrate players with disabilities. This is achieved through concrete actions, such as the development of infrastructure, the acquisition of specialized equipment and extensive training of supervisors.
This stay is one of the rewards obtained by the Alsatian club following its first place in the Sensationnelles Prize. Since 2022, this distinction aims to promote clubs invested in the development of amateur women’s football, and carrying out significant actions or projects in this area. “Révèle-toi” therefore won over the jury during this 2024 edition, and allows L’Entente Sportive Molsheim Ernolsheim, in addition to participating in this course, to benefit from financial support of €10,000 per year for three seasons . Supported by the Intermarché brand in partnership with the FFF, the Sensationnelles Prize is sponsored by Laure Boulleau, a former professional player who played for PSG and the French team. The latter was present this Monday in Clairefontaine, to meet the young Alsatian players (with an average age of 15 years).
The Canal + consultant arrived around 11 a.m. on the indoor grounds of the center, where the morning’s workshops were taking place due to thick fog making outdoor training difficult. During the preceding hour, the young players were coached by Yvan Wouandji Kepmegni, French international blind football player (football adapted for the visually impaired). The finalist of the 2012 Paralympic Games introduced them to his discipline, through workshops developing bearings and listening to others.
Highlights between inspiring exchanges and sporting moments
The Alsatians then went to meet Laure Boulleau, for a speech by the latter, followed by a short question-and-answer session. Among the topics covered, balancing football and studies, managing injuries and the challenge that oneself can represent as a woman in a predominantly male environment. “This is the first season where I come to meet the girls to spend some time with them”declared the former Parisian during the press briefing. “There, I’m right and that’s what I like. I need to see and touch with my fingertips the projects in which I am involved. I’m not a godmother just to post posts on my social networks. It’s a reward for me too to see them evolving here with stars in their eyes!”
Following these discussions, it was time for tennis-football, where the young footballers had the opportunity to compete against the finalist of the 2015 Champions League. In waves of five players, they took turns playing matches of six points against the latter, who played doubles on her side. Laughter, technical gestures and chambering were there! The opportunity for Laure Boulleau to prove that she had beautiful remains, author of some acrobatic returns, several of which hit the mark.
At the end of these matches, head to the castle for a well-deserved meal. The players were thus able to sit around the immense legendary Blues table, at the end of which Laure Boulleau took her place. Unforgettable memories for the talented young girls and important moments of sharing for the former international player, who hopes to be back next year: “I don’t know yet if there will be a season 4. But if it happens and I am asked to be godmother again, I will do it with pleasure!”
Finally, the young players headed to the conference room of the castle, for an intervention by judokate Madeleine Malonga. The double European champion spoke with them and answered their questions, after retracing her journey and discussing her highlights, but also her disappointments. At the heart of the debates in particular: the notions of self-confidence and collective solidarity during difficult times experienced as a team. A friendly time concluded with a smile with multiple photo opportunities with the athlete, who displayed his recently won gold medal in the team events of the 2024 Olympic Games.
