The presidential candidate of the ruling National Party, Álvaro Delgado, stressed that the country expressed itself within a framework of democracy and freedom.

For his part, Orsi, who was the candidate with the most votes in the national elections last Sunday in October, celebrated that the country is once again recognized for its civic culture.

“Uruguay is once again in the news today for its civic culture,” Orsi explained in an event before thousands of militants. The Broad Front candidate highlighted that his party was “the one that grew the most” in this election compared to the first round of 2019, when the National Party ended up winning the presidency in the second round.

“Today the Uruguayan people won, today hope is triumphing and you are here to prove it,” he added.
The consulting firm Cifra gave 43.4% to Orsi, 27.4% to Delgado and 16.5% to the candidate of the Colorado Party (center-right), Andrés Ojeda, the main candidates.

The Opción company gave 42.8% to the Frente Amplista candidate, 27% to whoever was Secretary of the Presidency during the current Government, and 16.6% to Ojeda.
